HUGE inconvenience was that the internet was not available for our entire visit and so we could not work from the cabin.

No couch which proved to be uncomfortable HUGE inconvenience was that the internet was not available for our entire visit and so we could not work from the cabin. Also the laundry facilities were paid by QR code and with no internet our wet sea clothes remained wet! Staff we’re aware internet was down

We loved the cabin! It was clean and comfortable.

The “extras” aren’t great. The mini gold and disc golf is nothing special. The pool is okay and the rec room is run down.

Pleasant stay in comfortable, cozy cabin

The cabin was adorable & comfortable. The private bathroom was nice. I'd definitely stay here again. Very pleasant stay.

The cell phone coverage was limited (we had to drive up the highway to get a signal). That's not the hotel's fault, just something to note if you're trying to get ahold of someone. The cabin did have wifi.

It was so clean you could smell the wood in the cabin and it was very private inside. It had plenty of outlets and the bed was comfortable you literally just need to bring your food and whatever makes you comfy and settle in!

No direct beach access and you have to cross the highway if you want to explore the other side where the beach is

Clean, well taken care of, and quiet. Close to the beach, short 5 minute drive to Newport. Full kitchen, bathroom, and great sleeping arrangements in the cabin. Indoor swimming pool and hot tub. Fun activities for holiday weekends.

Fantastic, great for the family

Very comfortable bed, the cabin heated up easily and has plenty of storage to go along with space for the 5 of us

The camp is pleasant and clean. The cabins are clean but small and need furniture updates.

Our cabin was up against the green belt and the picnic table was placed to take advantage of this and so it felt more private. The staff was friendly. The overall campgrounds were clean. It is great to have a bathroom and kitchenette in the cabin. There are plenty of windows to prevent feeling closed-in.

It is time for a new mattress and couch. Sleeping on that hard, lumpy mattress was no good and the couch /sofa bed has seen better days. Also felt pads on the wooden chairs are needed to prevent loud scraping noises.

The studio cabin was wonderful, everything we needed for bedding was there. Great location!

Getting towels, we only received 2 towels, 2 wash clothes, 2 hand towels, we were there for a week and there was no instructions on how to get more. They were very short staffed and there was no one to ask questions of. There was no monitoring of the pool and spa, kids were breaking all the rules and parents were either not there or didn't care. We left twice because of the noise and jumping into the pool. Getting info from the resort was difficult, the number listed is for the Thousand Springs company and they could not answer questions regarding Whalers Rest. The number of for Whalers Rest was not listed and they number TS transferred you to was never answered and calls were not returned.

Misrepresented and dilapidated

The location is good, in the forest close to the ocean.

We, two senior couples, rented a cabin that supposedly sleeps 4 at the Whalers Rest resort. However, the cabin was misrepresented and virtually not livable: 1. One of two bedrooms had bunked beds, and the sign on the upper one suggested “Top bunk for children under 150 lbs”. This constitutes a misrepresentation in the description because the cabin is not suitable for 4 adults. Of course, we would not book this cabin if the description was correct. Resort staff suggested using a rolling sofa-bed. However, opening this bed would block the entrance door, which clearly breaks the fire code. Also, this sofa-bed is probably 100 years old and is in a horrible shape. 2. The door to the bathroom did not lock and did not even close. It renders itself open unless the someone holds it close. This is a horrible inconvenience to say the least. 3. One of the AC units was under the ceiling and there was no remote control for it. So, one has to climb the chair every time one wants to operate the device. 4. The light in the bedroom does not have a plafond, which, again, breaks the fire code. 5. The fridge is antiquated and was not maintained for months. All and all, the cabin is in a horrible shape and is misrepresented. The resort staff at reception said that they cannot do anything. The resort is located in rather secluded area, which limited our options of finding the last moment alternative for accommodations. Therefore, we, unfortunately, did not have any other option and had to stay in this cabin. Our friends from overseas were looking forward to enjoy beautiful Oregon Coast. Naturally, this experience ruined their impression of the beautiful surroundings.

Gem of the Oregon Coast

Loved all that was offered with our stay - amazing place for kids! Great path to beach and quick driver to Newport. Also, the cabin was adorable and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We have already suggested to many friends/family that they check out your facilities!
