Hyatt Place St. Paul

The room was palatial. Loved the high ceilings. It was also very quiet. Thank you. The breakfast had many options. The lobby was lively and the staff was friendly and helpful.

We parked across the street in the structure because hotel's parking was very expensive. The Placery was very very expensive as was the Market ($7 for one soft drink). Patrons should be notified of the extraordinary costs.

the room size was amazing. the staff was decent. the bartender was outstanding. i do not understand at all what you wanted regarding housekeeping so we never ordered any.

the toilet ran constantly - do you all have a maintenance schedule? there's holes in the carpet in the hall way. the interior of the hotel could be maintained better

The Hyatt Place is located in an old post office building on the lower edge of downtown St. Paul. We were visiting to see a show at the Ordway, which was just a 10 minute or so walk up the hill. The location was great, right next to the train station and within easy walking distance of the main attractions of downtown. We used the cheaper parking right across the street which was convenient. The bed was nice and comfy, and the room felt huge with the high ceilings and massive windows. It was a nice couples getaway for me and my wife.

The hotel breakfast was quite basic, but it was included so hard to complain about that. Parking on site seems exorbitantly expensive, but there were other options close by for parking. The doors tend to slam hard, and we could hear them throughout the hallways in the night. These are all pretty nitpicky, and our overall stay was good.

The breakfast was okay, I just wish they had more of a variety.

What could have been better, was the morning staff. When it was time to check out, I had an issue the night before, and the morning staff, made it seem like I was somehow lying about the night before. I was not happy about that. What I also did not like, was that the staff the night I checked in, was not very happy either. She seemed like she had gone through a lot, and I wish that she had more help. No one should feel that overwhelmed. When it comes to a hotel, you would expect more staff. But, again She did a wonderful job, and I truly appreciate it.
