The cleanliness was the only thing that felt good.

I recently stayed at Foresteria Lombarda La Spiaggia for three nights and was extremely disappointed with the experience. Here are the main issues I encountered: 1. **Poor Breakfast Quality:** The breakfast provided was of very low quality. There were no fresh options, only some buns and sandwiches with ham and cheese. Each person was allotted one boiled egg, and no additional sides were offered. Overall, it was a very disappointing start to each day. 2. **Small and Uncomfortable Room:** Despite booking a room with a lake view, the room was incredibly small. It was too cramped to enjoy staying there comfortably. 3. **Lack of Privacy:** The setup felt more like a dorm room than a private accommodation. The owner has an office just behind a wall and was constantly walking around, which made us feel like we were always being watched. The walls were very thin, and we could hear everything, making it impossible to relax. 4. **Damp and Uncomfortable Conditions:** There was no electrically heated radiator in the room, so our clothes and the entire room remained damp throughout our stay. It rained heavily for two days, and nothing could dry out, including the bathroom. 5. **Unappealing Area:** The surrounding area was not appealing at all. It's a small village with nothing to do and barely any restaurants. The "beachfront" is just a mooring place for boats with a rocky surface, not suitable for relaxation or enjoyment. 6. **Overpriced and Poor Value:** The owner seemed more interested in making money than providing a good experience. We were expected to order from his menu for evening dinner, which felt restrictive. The overall experience felt like a rip-off, considering the poor quality and high price. Breakfast was freshly prepared each day, and there was always a good selection of eats allowing for any allergies. Good nutritious balance meals were eaten each day. Marco and Chiara the hosts were the perfect partnership for savouries and sweets. During our stay we had fantastic evening meals; again, everything was freshly sourced and produced to a very high standard. Marco was very knowledgeable about the area and offered great tips and advice which helped us plan our days of exploration of Lake Como and the Lombarda regions. His insights were priceless and he and his wife went the extra mile for us. Very warm and friendly hosts with cracking accommodation. Looking forward to a future visit to Foresteria Lombarda as there’s much more to see and do including hill walking and the many views of Lake Como.

Wish we could have stayed longer than planned as our time at this location was first class. Could not fault our stay, it was brilliant, well worth the money.

Quiet Area, Beautiful Scenery, Marco and Family made this an amazing trip with their hospitality, we will always stay with them when we come back! Also the breakfasts were amazing!!

Our four night stay was more like visiting with friends, Marco and family were excellent hosts, friendly, helpful, great cooks and nothing was too much trouble! We had the mountain view room that has a small balcony and I'm glad we had that one. The bed was super comfy and huge, the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and the secure parking an added bonus. We had fantastic breakfasts and eat there on three evenings as the food was excellent, freshly prepared with vegetables from Marco's garden.

Speciality items freshly cooked for breakfast, different each day, which were very nice. Fabulous views. Excellent hospitality. Nice to have the option to have dinner. Very flexible with breakfast times.

Although there was a rain shower, there was no separate spray for hair washing. A rack or shelf in the shower was not available so was difficult to place soap, sponge and other toiletries within easy reach as they had to be placed on the shower base area.

Everything it’s an absolute gem! It has a station and lake shuttle close by as well as pool and public beach. It’s right on the lake what’s not to love

A truly exceptional stay with wonderful hosts in Marco and his wife, Chiara. Wonderful room, excellent food and even better quality of service which I feel was second to nothing I have ever experienced before. My partner is gluten intolerant and the hosts went out of their way to facilitate and cook dishes which enabled her to receive the same quality of homemade cooking as others receive. This accommodation comes very close to the perfect 10/10 in all regards. NB: This is a 2 room accommodation so don't expect hotel facilities

The only negative, and I realise for many this would be a positive, is that the accommodation does require transport in order to access nearby town(s). However, the secure parking, if you have a car, is a tremendous bonus.

On the edge of the lake with uninterrupted views, secure parking, superb varied breakfasts everyday and excellent hosts. 👏 Lots of birds on the lake and occasionally boats, seaplanes and ferries pass by. If you want a peaceful guesthouse, then book this place. If you want a slightly less peaceful guesthouse, then still book this place, but ask Marco about Inter Milan and anything in general about Italian football - he's a real fan... We had a wonderful stay, the place is very clean and Marco couldn't have been more helpful.

Quite a long walk to the nearest village and train station. Definitely need a car or bike.

The hosts went above and beyond to make the experience very personal. Good breakfast which was different everyday. Also offered valuable advice when needed. Would also highly recommend eating in the restaurant.

The stay in La Spiaggia was wonderful, Marco and Chiara do everything for guests to feel good. I strongly recommend to order dinner from them, because they are wonderful chefs who are able to make traditional Italian dishes and desserts at the highest level

The room and facilities are very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was excellent and Marco was a great host. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay in a quiet area of the lake.

Everything was absolutely wonderful! Most romantic setting, beautiful views, fantastic food and the most attentive hosts. Location is about 20min walk from train station and from ferry station that can take you to other towns like Bellagio,Mennagio,Varenna,etc. I couldn't be happier with my stay.

Wow! Evening meal prepared to order. Must let Marco know before 3pm so that he can procure freshest ingredients. Salad and veg from garden, fresh ice cream made every morning. This is real Italian family home cooking carried out with a passion for perfection. Every breakfast was different with home made snack items, toasties, pancakes, etc. Marco couldn't do enough to try to please. Nothing was too much trouble. We have stayed in great places all over the World but this one beats them all for service - even the most expensive 5 star city hotels cant compare.

This was our second visit to La Spiaggia and it wont be our last. Its in a great location, right on the lake. Breakfast and dinner on the balcony with a view of the lake is amazing. The rooms are modern, clean and comfortable. We had dinner twice and the food was delicious. Marco and Chiara are great hosts, friendly and helpful and they create a wonderful atmosphere which added to our stay.

Chiara and Marco are the best hosts, making sure everything’s to your liking. Daily breakfast is fresh, delicious and different every day. Be sure to reserve dinner at least once; they’re great chefs as well.

We had a great stay at Marco's place. They make you feel at home right away, the chambers are truly wonderful, the location next to the Lake is amazing as well. The breakfast is everything (& more) what you could expect, all freshly made in the morning. I reccomend dinner at Marco's as well.. Who would say no to freshly picked Porchinis straight out the mountains by Marco himself.. Lierna is a great hideout to travel around Lake Como, You can drive up to Varenna and take ferry boats to any place you want. Will definitely come back at some point. Grazie mille!

Everything was fantastic. The quality of the rooms and all facilities we’re of a very high standard, the food was excellent, great views over the lake and Marco and his wife are the perfect hosts! They were incredibly friendly and helpful! Would highly recommend staying here for your trip to Como!

Die Lage der Unterkunft und vor allem die ausgesprochene Freundlichkeit und Aufmerksamkeit von Marco und Chiara war außergewöhnlich! Das Essen war absolut fantastisch! Sogar Extra-Wünsche/Anfragen wurden berücksichtigt. Die Einrichtung ist aufeinander abgestimmt, schön vom Design und alles ist sehr sauber. Der Balkon zum See ist der Wahnsinn. Dass alles so persönlich und privat sein würde, hätte ich nicht gedacht und war wirklich sehr, sehr schön! Für uns war es der perfekte Urlaub. Es gab Liegen und Strandtücher, einen Parkplatz in einer Garage und abends gab es auch ein wirklich sehr sehr leckeres Essensangebot, was man jeweils dazu buchen konnte. Die Klimaanlage ist seitlich vom Bett und leise, sodass wir auch sehr gut schlafen konnten. Für unsere Unternehmungen bekamen wir Insidertipps und wir haben uns sehr umsorgt gefühlt. Wir kommen wieder.
