Location was perfect

We had a slight problem with roaches and the AC would not cool the room. The filter was clean but the units return air grille was covered in dust causing the unto to not be able to cool properly. It definitely needs some maintenance.

I've stayed several times over the past 5+ years. Since I have to follow a special diet, Mia Rentals is an effective way to meet my needs. The kitchens have all the basic supplies, and if something is missing (like a large pot or salad bowl), I let them know by text or phone call, and they send a member of their cleaning staff during the day. The cleaning staff always does a good job of maintaining cleanliness! If you have an accident, there's a broom and mop in the closet. A couple of times the batteries ran out for the remote control in the evening, and the onsite manager was sent to install new ones. The hosts put forth the effort to make sure that the environment is quiet, by posting signs in all the apartments letting the guests know that loud music and amplification devices aren't allowed. The police station is close, so that rowdy people can be dealt with quickly.

Although they do supply a few tiny bars of soap, and mini shampoo/conditioner bottles, I wish that they'd provide full sized bottles of body wash, shampoo and conditioner. In my travels I've stayed at places that bolt a "holder" to the wall for those products. The bottles are locked into the "holder" and the cleaning staff refills them as needed. They're easier to use, and aren't adding to plastic pollution the way that the little bottles do.***The curtains are only light-filtering not "black-out," so you might want to bring an eye mask to sleep deeply at night.

I've been a guest several times since 2021. The kitchens are supplied with just about everything you need for basic cooking. If anything is missing, a large salad bowl or large pot, you just call or send a text, and they'll have someone bring it (during the daytime). It's a short walk to both the North and Southbound bus stops. Walgreen's is a couple of blocks away, and a bit further in the opposite direction you have two strip malls with CVS, places to eat, Milam's grocery market, Marshall's and a dollar store. If it's off season and raining, I take a bus to the Aventura Mall and watch a movie at AMC Theaters. There's an abundance of both bath and beach/pool towels. Some apartments have bathtubs and some have only showers, so if you have a preference you'll need to let them know. They have always done their best to accommodate my requests. The laundry rooms were changed from coin operated (my personal preference) to credit/debit card, and cost $4.00 each. All the apartments are supplied with a rack for drying clothes so that you can set up your rinsed out bathing suits to drip dry in the shower/bathtub area. The apartments I've stayed in have either shelving (in the form of cubes) or dressers for storing your belongings-so you don't have to live out of your suitcase. There is no smoking allowed, and each apartment has numerous signs reminding people to be quiet and not blast music, it's also forbidden to play music at the pool, which makes for a more peaceful vibe for everyone.

Whenever possible I always prefer to be located on the Eastern side of the building so that I don't have to carry my heavy groceries as far, since I don't drive. Sometimes it's possible and sometimes there isn't availability. The Western side of the building has the advantage of being further away from Collins Avenue, so you don't really hear the noise from the cars.*** I wish that they would replace the light filtering curtains with light blocking curtains for these reasons: better sleep in total darkness, also because they're insulated they keep the place both cooler and more quiet.***
