The hotel itself is fine. I had reserved two rooms, each was supposed to have a queen bed and a sofa bed. I specifically chose this type of room because we were traveling with five children of varying ages, so we need at least four beds total. I checked us in and nothing was said to me about the room being upgraded. We went up to the rooms and one of them was as we had reserved, and the other one only had one king bed in it. I went back down to the lobby and the staff member said that we had been given a complimentary upgrade. It’s not an upgrade for us if we lose a bed. She was unable to give us a different room as they were fully booked. We ended up with a rollaway bed that was very uncomfortable for my son who slept on it and we also cut our trip short by one day because we were so crowded in our rooms. I believe we got this “upgrade” because they were trying to stuff more people in the hotel. If it had just been my husband and myself, it would have been fine, but the hotel knew we had five kids with us because I had to put all that information on the reservation. Very frustrating, especially after driving all day to get there. Other than the room problem, the pool was cold and not heated and the breakfast was so so. There’s probably better places to stay in Custer.
