It was good and worked for our needs this weekend

Great location and good value.

Four o clock check ins are ridiculous. We’re paying for a day at the hotel and we can’t even be there for 24 hours. We requested an early check in weeks ago so we could get ready for a wedding. They said we had to ask when we checked in which we did at 11:30. We did finally get into our room at 2:00 to quickly change for the wedding. This was not the staffs fault, but this policy should change. Also it was pretty noisy at night. Otherwise great stay.

Perfect for a beach getaway

Loved the large pool with spas, and location to Doheny State Beach. Staff friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and had a beachy vibe.

Did not like the pushiness about sitting in to learn about the timeshare.

Hello, I’m reaching out regarding my recent reservation, as I unfortunately had a very negative experience with the property and am requesting a full refund. When I arrived, three different staff members at the front desk were rude and unhelpful. At check-in, no one provided directions to my room, so I had to figure everything out on my own. Once I finally located the room, I found it in unacceptable condition — including visible stains on the carpet and an overall lack of cleanliness. I did not feel comfortable, clean, or safe staying there, and I ultimately chose not to remain on the property. This review is in no way a reflection of Booking.com. I’ve always had great experiences using your platform, and you’ll see I’ve never left negative feedback before. This situation, however, was far below basic standards of hospitality, and I’m asking for your assistance in processing a refund. Thank you in advance for your help. Phase 2, the newer building was just fine. Had a great view of the ocean.

Phase one, the older building was full of mold, spores. They tried to cover it up with blasting incense into the building, but it’s seriously moldy in that building. The train goes by every 20 minutes or so and it’s very noisy. The street is very noisy as well

Staff were friendly professional and helpful! The room was large with a separate bedroom and had everything we needed, with a great ocean view. Having use of the bikes was a nice touch. On site laundry was helpful.

The beach was across the road and railroad tracks. It was about a 10 minn walk to navigate.

Not a piece of Paradise

Staff was helpful and friendly. The loaner bicycles & beach chairs were a nice perk and the on site store was well stocked. The size of the studio and full fridge, efficiency kitchen and BBQ grill on the balcony was great! Pools were clean and nice.

Location was NOT Dana Point. Wrong side of the tracks of DP maybe. The scenery was lacking, PCH, parking lot and train tracks are loud and not pretty to look out upon. The “beach” across from hotel was not a beach at all. No place to lay out, sit a chair or towel in the sand or even go in the water because of the dangerous beach drop off. The waves crash into rocks which line the state park parking lot. Calling this a beachfront property is a lie. If I was Hilton, I’d sell the property and not use it to try to sell your timeshare vacation club-not a good representation. The facility and staff being good is just putting lipstick on a pig.

Decent but could be better

The staff were very nice and friendly. The location is great and we had a decent view of the ocean.

I had requested a room closer to the pool with an unobstructed view of the ocean. We were assigned a room on the farthest building away from the pool and we had palm trees blocking our view of the ocean. I even received an email stating that they'd be able to accommodate my request. This place is nice and it's got a great location right by the beach. But they need to try harder at accommodating customer's requests. Especially when it's for a special occasion.

2 bedroom suite was perfect! Staff at reception were excellent…beware the guy trying to sell you vacation club.

Major negative was at checkin when I was strongarmed by a guy trying to sell vacation club. This was a bad start to a very nice stay.

Great bargain getaway for ocean gazing on the balcony!

Very nice affordable location on the coast. You just have to look across PCH and the train tracks, but I could sit on my balcony and watch the waves break on Doheny State Park. You can also see Dana Point Harbor for some great sunset views. The king suite with full kitchen and dining area was large, comfortable, stylish and super clean.

Access to the beach was not easy. You can’t just walk across the street, but a pedestrian bridge was just down the block. There are three buildings and parking garage areas that do not connect, and the layout is confusing. 4 pm check-in and 10 am check-out are bit late and early, sort of inconvenient. $25/day resort fee, but it includes free parking.

the only good thing is the location

extremely old and dirty, room is dark, the carpet is old and full with dust and hair; The toothpaste in the hygiene set had been opened and used; the sinks of the master bedroom are stuck, water cannot flow out( they were fixed later after my complaint). I complained to the front desk about the terrible situation of the room, they replied that they could change me to another room, but the situation would the exactly the same, so I didn’t let them change for me. It costed me over 500 dollars for 2 nights, but the experience was so terrible, the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed!
