Location, location, location

The beds were uncomfortable and leaning to one side. The comforter was 70s style and itchy to the touch. The room was freezing and the wall heater was loud, but warmed up eventually. Couldn't look out the window at the view because doily curtains were in the way.

Friendly, super convenient and clean!!

Location was great. We could walk to either hot spring and also downtown. Room was much quieter than we expected as it is off a busy road. The man who checked us in was so amazingly nice!! I lived in Germany in the early 1990’s and the room reminded me of the typical gasthaus room you would rent. Definitely dated, but for me very nostalgic! The room was huge. Very clean. Spotless!

No hair dryer, although there may have been one if we had asked at the front desk which we didn’t. With all the hot springs in the area a hair dryer would have been nice.

Great Location and Comfortable but don't expect too much even though it was a good value.

The room has had some updates to it even though the building is older. The price is fair for the location and the cost of other hotels in the area. I think some new bedspreads would go a long ways. The carpet could use a shampoo soon. The best part was the location. In walking distance to the train station, the trails, hot springs, Caverns, park and there is a Maverik on the corner for quick snacks or drinks.

The room appeared clean, but still dated a little. As I mentioned, new bedspreads would dress up the room. They looked a little worn which makes them appear not as clean. But they did a good job in cleaning after the previous occupants. The carpet looked like it could use a good deep cleaning.

Great people and place not owned by a corporation.

Within walking distance to the pool. They are friendly and extremely helpful. They go out of their way to help as they can. Although simple, the accommodation is clean and well-kept. Everything worked properly. This is our third visit throughout the years. We will return.

The wifi on the back end is extremely poor and they told us that when we checked in. (Talk about honest and upfront) Maybe an extender? The problem is that someone would probably steal it, which they could not do much about, so I can't hold it against them.

We stayed here last year and really no complaints This time was not the same.

For one thing, we walked in and had little black bugs in bedroom. We had 2 bedrooms, so we closed that door with bugs. We then went in bathroom and they were just following where light was on I guess. We used shower and that was leaking all over the floor, which we saw after first shower. This was just going all over bathroom floor and went out in hallway, so we just thru towels on floor to soak up. We were just tired and wanted sleep after 11 hours on the road!

Would have been a good value but the cleanliness needs work.

Such a cute set up with the stained glass and super friendly host. Very convenient location and ice machine was appreciated.

Unfortunately, one of the beds had very unappealingly stained sheets and the pillows were lumpy and worn out. The bucket of pink water (?) filled with bugs next to the entrance was also very off-putting.

It was super cute inside and out. Nice to have an actual key and paper sign in. The manager was delightfully friendly. He actually seemed to enjoy what he was doing.

A good place to relax.

Great location right off the highway and convenient to downtown. They were very accomodating in allowing us a late check-out. They have become our home away from home when we come to Glenwood Springs for family events.

STAY WAS VERY GOOD.

GOOD LOCATION ONCE ROUND ABOUTS WERE FIGURED! ATE ACROSS THE STREET AT VILLAGE AND STOPPED AT THE MEXICAN PLACE TOO. IF HAD MORE TIME, MIGHT HAVE RODE UP THE GONDOLA I SPOTTED UP THE MOUNTAIN.

good position, only a couple of minutes walking from the Hot Springs and many eateries

very noisy: it is a road-side motel with no sound isolation, there was indeed a gap between the door and the floor. the reception lady was not welcoming. room, sanitary were old and obsolete.

Starlight Lodge is a win in my book

Starlight Lodge was great, they have a nice homey atmosphere and staff that goes beyond professional to be down right friendly, even some light hearted ribbing after I couldn't get a door open. The room was small, but met the needs and the bed was surprisingly comfortable.

The guy I was traveling with kept me up with his snoring. Yeah, that's the only thing I can really complain about.

Retro and cute

I have always wanted to stay here due to its cute Bavarian Village exterior. For a 2 star and the price it was good for an overnight stay. I'm a past travel agent and public school teacher, so when I travel, I look for safe, clean, and the reviews compared to cost as I like to spend my funds on food and excursions.

An over night stay for one night, it fit the bill. And the owner she is so sweet. If you just need a bed to sleep without all the other hubbub this is the place.
