i arrived late and was able to check in very easy
I booked the steam plant but was moved down the block to another hotel by the company, no reason given.

The location was great. We walked from the Amtrak at 3 in the morning. So glad there was a person there to check us in. Breakfast was good (see comment below). Rooms were clean, nice, everything we needed. Happy the elevator was available and working.
We got the breakfast that the hotel covered at Rosie's. It was great. However, we were very surprised that coffee was not included. That seems extremely basic to breakfast. So, my husband did buy Rosie's coffee. How much more expensive would it be to include coffee in the breakfast??
Outside sidewalks and parking were somewhat dirty. A good power wash would have made the outside area more appealing. I imagine it a hard area to keep clean.

We stay here every time we come to Spokane. Great location in the entertainment district. Can’t beat the value you get at the Steam Plant Hotel
No complaints.

The receptionist was very pleasant and the rooms were clean
the room was very cold on arrival and noisy from train during the night After we turned up thermostat it warmed up ok Breakfast was disappointing Our voucher did not include coffee or many options I would have been happier if your breakfast room on site had provided just pancakes and/or cereal with coffee and juice instead of needing to walk three blocks to use a $6 voucher at a restaurant that didn t even cover the cost of pancakes with no coffee If I known before would have brought my own breakfast with me

The location is excellent with the hotel in the heart of downtown and everything is in easy walking distance - concert, shopping, food, brewery. 15% discount on the adjacent Steam Plant Restaurant and Brewery was fantastic and the food was great with excellent service. Free breakfast at an adjacent Restaurant, Rosies, was really good too and the service was good. The front desk staff were very efficient, professional, helpful and friendly.
The Steam Plant Hotel is RIGHT BESIDE THE ELEVATED RAILROAD TRACKS. The trains run all night, every 15 minutes at some points, and the screaming first engine, followed by rattling, screeching railcarts, then two engines pushing at the end was something out of an endless nightmare - which I would have preferred if I could have gotten any sleep at all. The hotel itself was good and affordable and cannot help it's location, but we will stay on the other side of downtown next trip and pay a bit more for SLEEP. Also, strangely, the toilet was really low and small - I'm 5'3" - I'm not sure how a larger or older person could have managed getting down and then off that little toilet!

This was the best deal we could find in Spokane. It was in a very good location downtown. It had an old-school motel vibe, but the room was clean and comfortable. The free breakfast at Rosie’s cafe was excellent.
There was an odd chemical odor in the room. It was pretty basic but clean. The tv had only basic cable. Breakfast was free and good but a block away.

Excellent location. Warm, welcoming staff, wonderful breakfast, affordable parking. Free coffee in the lobby. Discounts on nearby restaurants. Easy check-in/check-out. Good value for the price. Would recommend this hotel to friends!

Liked Spokane and hotel enough to extend my stay a second night. Later found the hotel charged me a higher rate for the second night, but received a quick refund after I contacted the front desk.

The location was convenient and easy to access. The free breakfast at Rosie's was great.
I reached out to the front desk and asked for early check in. We were attending a wedding that started at 430pm. I was told to call or text the morning of and see what was available. I reached out the morning of check in and was told that they could do a 3pm check in. My husband and I arrived at 3pm and was told our room would not be available until 4pm. I showed them the text I received. Shannon at the front said the rooms were not ready. I explained that we needed to get ready for the wedding and were told we could get into our room at 3pm. She did not seem to care. Thank goodness for Jade. Jade reached out to a mgr and was able to get the room ready for us and checked us in with 15 min. We were able to get ready and made it to the wedding on time.

We were here for a Square Dance conference so it was a great location with beautiful mosaics, mural paintings, and photography of dancers. It was such a lovely atmosphere to return to every night. I enjoy making mosaics, so I was impressed and entranced with the mosaics on the garage! They are worth coming to see, even if you don't stay here.
It also came with free, hearty breakfasts at Rosie's.
The only thing that wasn't great was one of the black cups provided was not clean. I couldn't tell until I poured hot water for tea in it and old milk flakes floated to the surface. Otherwise, everything else looked clean and neat.

Price was reasonable, and location near restaurant and shopping.
Near the railway line. No breakfast or pool

Shower.
No free breakfast as advertised. Super noisy: outdated a/c, trains every 30mins just “next door”. Expensive.

The location! Nicely updated!
The sister properties, restaurants you receive discounts at were all closed, one bc of the day, one for remodeling. Wanted to see the steam plant!!!!

The Steam Plant Hotel is smack dab in the middle of downtown Spokane, and very convenient to activities and restaurants there. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and parking on site was only $5.00.
This hotel is a revived and updated motel, but it feels like the actual building infrastructure wasn't repaired and updated, just some fresh paint and new furnishings. We had a room on the second floor, and walking around the floor squeaked and creaked loudly everywhere we stepped. If we were staying at a historical hotel, this might be considered part of the charm, but this hotel is wanting to be modern and updated, so the hinky floors just made the place feel unmaintained. There was also a pretty strong odor that we couldn't identify, and was pretty off-putting. I should have requested a different room, so that's on me. And, just an annoyance, there was in-room coffee, but the actual coffee pods had not been replaced.

The room was nice
They double charged me and they said multiple times they didn’t charge my bank card only my credit card but yet there’s still almost $300 taken out and I have no clue why

Super location, easy walking access to downtown Spokane. Easy parking. Clean room.
Would prefer a wand in the shower, better than the fixed straight down showerhead.

Functional
Hot water in shower was only a trickle. Shower head sprayed only a little so it wasn’t a big deal.

Shannon the front desk manager was the BEST!!!
everything was great.

Centrally located to downtown Spokane activities, room was clean and appointments upscale. Breakfast was provided.
AC unit was noisy and property located right next to elevated Railroad tracks. However to compensate for noise factor, the hotel provided ear plugs.

Breakfast was Great! Although we were not given the correct voucher to redeem the complimentary breakfast. We had to go back to the hotel to get it.
More pillows for the bed. I recieved a text message prior to arriving asking if we would like any accommodations. I replied to the text asking for extra pillows. No response from the text and no extra pillows.

Whenever I stay at the Steam Plant Hotel it’s always a pleasant, relaxing and hassle- free time. Every staff member, from the friendly and polite check in person, the ever accommodating maintenance staff, and even the parking lot security, all make it a point to ask about my comforts and needs. The room is spacious and clean. Love the large shower!! And the bed is cozy and snuggly with all the pillows. The location is within walking distance of eateries, nightclubs and other entertainment venues. A breakfast voucher to Rosies is an added bonus. There is a train that rattles through nearby but the provided earplugs eliminates the noise. For the price location, and staff, Steam Plant Hotel is my
go to place for the night.
There is nothing that I can be disappointed in

Location is right downtown, and of course there were homeless people wandering around. Bed was comfortable.
Breakfast was at Rosie's a block away. Now that was a great place for breakfast. We were given a coupon for one free breky, so my spouse had to pay. The cashier/waitress was so nice and helpful. And patient. I really appreciate her.
The room seems well worn and will need refurbishment soon. Carpeting is matted, subfloor by the bathroom door is sunk in.
9.0 / 10.0
Spacious rooms that contained a large fridge, microwave and a decent coffee maker. The shower was so refreshing and luxurious with the oversized enclosure and a large rain like shower head. All the fixtures throughout the bathroom were a grade above the standard. The room had a nice floor plan allowing a dressing/clothing area, An office area, the sleeping area with the huge king sized bed. The grounds were kept super clean and everything worked from the vending machines to the weight room equipment. The staff were friendly, polite, knowledgable, helpful and bubbly. It was very evident that every staff member took pride in the fact that they belonged to this organization and that genuinely enjoyed being at work.
The train. There is nothing that Steam Plant can due about it but it is very loud, screechy banging and clunky.
3.0 / 10.0
Nothing
Bathroom needs upgrade, stained towels and bedsheets, a lot of noise from the train that passes through, no coffee station or breakfast at the location.
4.0 / 10.0
The bed was pretty comfortable.
This place is just like a cheap motel 6.

Location is close to downtown.
Rooms are basic, motel style, close to homeless encampments and dangerous areas.

Steam Plant has cut back on some amenities like wake up calls. No more snacks available for purchase in the lobby.

Great hotel for the price! Close to walk to an event at the First Interstate Performing Arts Center, so we didn't have to pay for parking. Also had a nice breakfast included at a nearby hotel.
Train goes by often and several times throughout the night, but they do provide the room with earplugs.

Very well located, friendly staff, and very clean. A cool, budget option for staying in Spokane.
Thin walls meant we could hear the children in the next room

The location was nice.
The property is set up like a motel which was fine but I would have felt safer in a hotel style. I did not like their the tub had hairs in it and clearly was not clean. The walls were thin and our neighbor had a screaming match with her teenage child at 6:00 am. That child will have no PlayStation (during the week and must apologize to their dad). I don’t need to know all this and it was alarming to wake up to the screaming.

The room was large, quiet and clean. The location was ideal walking distance for shopping , stopping for coffee, or taking a walk at Riverside park. There are plenty of coffee shops and restaurants in the area.
Absolutely nothing.

Cute place, well maintained. Friendly staff and convenient location. Bed was comfortable
Location was a bit sketchy, but the lighting was good and there was good security. Could have been a better selection of snacks/drinks in the lobby. I imagine some folks wouldn’t want to walk to the gas station/store a block over in the evening. Didn’t bother me though.
