    The entire side of the hotel where we stayed was under construction. Firstly, I’ve never heard of a hotel requiring a 10 AM checkout. I’ve been traveling for years. I’ve never heard of this. Then at 8 AM I started to hear hammers banging against Wood. I got up and yelled outside the door, “we’re trying to sleep in here.“ the banging stopped for about 10 minutes and then started again. It was about 815 when I had to get out of bed and walk to the office and talked with the owner. He was extremely confrontational telling me that I need to get up at 8 AM. I told him that he doesn’t tell me when I need to get up. I demanded some type of reimbursement. And that conversation lasted another 15 minutes. While the room was fine, the ambience, the noise the Construction and the attitude was not fine. If you’re looking for a good hotel where you won’t be disturbed during your sleep then I would not recommend this hotel. The owner did give me a *** cash refund, but that still doesn’t erase a drama and the disruption that we experienced.

    I’ve just finished a solo road trip around the country- going from Milwaukee, down to Atlanta, across to Las Vegas, and back to Milwaukee. I've stayed at a few value Motel 6’s, Red Roof Inns, among others along the way, and can confidently say the Thunderbird Lodge was the best bang for the buck across the entire trip, by far. The service was kind and considerate, the room was clean with a blow dryer, ironing board, luggage rack, soap and shampoo, they had a working hot tub in the common lobby area, and the king bed was comfortable. The only slight complaint I have is that footsteps from other guests are easily heard from inside the room, but that is common among most hotels at this price point I’ve stayed at. Similarly, no breakfast is served, but with a McDonald’s down the street this is easily remedied. Will be staying here again the next time I’m in Mitchell!

    My wife and I stayed here for three nights. The price was right. This is what I was expecting the price. If your wanting a five star place for a three star price don’t stay here.
