Fun, relaxing, cozy warm and rustic

The age and original furniture and 2 story portion built in 1938. The friendly staff and the overall peaceful feeling while there and the breakfast cooked to order and from scratch was a great touch as well as plenty of coffee.

One bedside lamp did not work but I didn't plug it in until the morning I left.

Not what I was expecting and very unacceptable.

The lady who checked me in at the front desk. The carpet in the room was nice. It was close to places we visited.

I didn't like the dirty room I had to deep clean the bathtub/ shower before bathing. The floor in bathroom was very dirty in all corners and around edges and toilet! The light fixture had dead bugs in it and the ceiling fan was thickly covered with dust and cobwebs were hanging from it as well as all pictures on wall. Everything needed a deep cleaning and ants covered our food and table while sleeping. I found a dead bug on the bed! Staff did not respond when I called for towels and were nowhere to be found when needing help with breakfast! In fact I saw 0 housekeeping staff ECT whatsoever through out my entire stay!

Very uncomfortable stay at the Lighthouse Inn

The lady who checked us in and the fact that I got a refund for an extra room I did not approve of.

The room was unacceptable. The bath tub shower bathroom was not disinfected or cleaned. I had to clean the tub before I used it. The room was very unclean. Smudged on all walls cobwebs hanging on ceiling fan layers of dust on almost everything. Dead bug on bed. Ants everywhere. Dead bugs in light fixture. No response from hotel staff when I asked for towels. Saw there was a hot tub and laundry facility on site on Internet and there was not. Did not even see hotel staff whatsoever!!

Like staying at grandma’s house - old but comfy.

The location was pretty good. Close to the old town area. The innkeepers were super nice and accommodating.

It felt like staying at grandma’s house. Everything is pretty dated - the decor, furniture, and the room were pretty worn. Could use a serious makeover. Even though they are pet friendly they only had one small patch of grass for my dog to go potty so we had to walk around the neighborhood to do her business. The room we were in was ok, but the staircase outside seemed unsafe because it was raining and there was no texturing on the steps to keep you from slipping.

Had to move to another motel.

Not really anything!

The location wasn't all that bad, but we saw the room, and we were hungry, so we went and had dinner. During dinner we talked about the door was a full glass door that was not only bad looking but wasn't covered, and things were plugged in with extension cords that looked fairly unsafe. And the whole room just looked and smelled horrific.

What a lovely stay. Eric was very welcoming. Room was cute and comfortable. Dog friendly. Close to food. They even make biscuits and gravy and waffles for breakfast!

Good value with character

Great location for walking to old town. Comfortable bed, nice sheets and towels. Warm shower. Quirky old decor with lots of character. Lots of potential here. I liked the home made barley biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs.

Folgers coffee with powdered creamer. You must be quick to ask for eggs, host will not offer “Would you like eggs again this morning?” Some areas need more close attention with cleaning, notably shower tiles (although this will improve with renovations), and breakfast area floor.

The price and location are great. Owner was very friendly. Very old place with some character and charm. Love that it is right next door to our favorite place to eat in Florence! The Hawaiian restaurant

Could have been cleaner. There was dust and inch high on the ceiling fans. And really wish they had a bed skirt on one of the beds, because you could see the stains on the mattress. There was free breakfast but when we checked in they have two parrots that were beautiful, but they were in the area where they cook the breakfast. When we seen how unclean our room and the dinning was, did not really want to even try the breakfast.

The lowest cost option, welcoming but expect to time warp back to the 70's

The location was great, just round the corner were some lovely bars and restaurants, the manager/owner was very happy and welcoming.

A place stuck in the 70's. If you like places like this then it was great but it probably needs $200-300k spent on it to bring it kicking and screaming into this century. The breakfast has been mentioned by others. The owner obviously takes great delight in making his biscuits and gravy but I'm really sorry - they are extremely poor, just don;t waste your time. Others were looking at each other with bemusement.

A great value and comfortable accommodations with fantastic hosts.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. We got the family suite which had two bedrooms and was comfortable. the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was included with fresh made biscuits and gravy and scrambled eggs. The hotel itself is funky and old, but not dirty or smelly. I like funky and homey places so it is for me.

Disappointed. Paid for 2 nights but left after 1.

Location is good with easy access and parking.

Whole building is in need if a deep clean and refresh. Mold on curtains in bedroom, mold in bathroom, rusty fittings, heater that looked like it would blow up if turned on. Layers of dust on hanging fabrics, dirt and dust under the furniture that I had to move to connect bedside lamp, bed didn't look as if floor underneath had been swept for ages. Minor point, Internet TV unwatchable as everything kept buffering.

Good deal if you don’t mind a few inconveniences

It’s a great deal and location can’t be beat. If your expectations are set right, it’s an okay place to stay (and spend $$ saved at one of the restaurants nearby). Owner and staff were nice and really trying to do what they can to make your stay comfortable.

It’s rather dated and many things need maintenance. Bathrooms are rundown. That said, everything was very clean. It is very loud at night due to the location and the age of the building.

It’s pretty old and needing some repairs. Kitchen and common areas needed a good, deep cleaning. Previous guest’s undergarments were left in the bathroom. The pillows were too high (puffy).

The location was good and easy parking at hotel. Old world feel about the place made it feel homely.

Included breakfast was make your own waffle or eggs or biscuits with gravy, not a breakfast as far as I'm concerned, so wen across the road to a bakery. Buy the main complaint was that over a 3 night stay our room was not serviced at all, same towels and full waste bins.

It's a quaint Mom and Pop, Inn. Very old school, not like the cookie cutter chains. The staff was pleasant and the room was quiet, clean and comfortable. My wife and I were celebrating our 37th anniversary, and she said we should stay there again. The barley biscuits at the breakfast were excellent.

The exhaust fan in the bathroom was noisy, sounded like it needed to be replaced. The shower head had a narrow spay that couldn't be adjusted. I liked the breakfast, but a few low carbohydrate items would be nice, like hard boiled eggs or sausage. These observations are not deal breakers.

A large room with a couch and television was fun. The place was unique and funky but close to downtown and the water.

The location was close to old town. The room had lots of space, a couch and large tv. They had bags of chips in the room which was appreciated after a long ride.

Home away from home...

First of all, I can't say enough about Eric and sandy. They really just were wonderful. I just lost my mother who lived in Florence and my whole family was around trying to sort out details. They were flexible. They were supportive and they were very kind. The moral support was greatly appreciated. The biscuits and gravy are literally to die for. They go out of their way to make you a breakfast you'll love and they know all about Florence itself! You can book a more luxurious place. But you won't find anything as homey !

Everything was wonderful except one stair was broken going up to our room from the outside and that could cause an accident to happen.

We had the upper suite with a large room and two king beds. Very spacious and cozy at the same time.

Loved size of Family Suite. Nice to have couch and dining room table and chairs. Breakfast is always. Plus and this was yummy. Location for us was perfect. Lots of space to move around . Loved the chips for snacks and the little kids playroom was awesome. The lobby area is beautiful and comfy. Staff were very friendly and kind.

Bathroom lights kept blinking. No light in or near fridge. Lamp on dining room table didn’t work. Found used tissues by bed and at end of couch by wall. Carpet needed vacuuming in areas. Lights from cars shined through blinds on doors to balcony and window above fridge had outside light shine right onto head of bed making to hard to sleep. Refrigerator was extremely loud when it would start up about every 30 minutes or so all during night.

Exceptional

I loved the Lighthouse Inn. It's like staying with family. It's not fancy or perfect, but it's clean, the rooms are big, and our bed was comfortable. It's a very welcoming place, and in a great location near the historic and fun Florence downtown. To boot, the breakfast included biscuits and gravy, with biscuits that were handmade from barley they ground. I highly recommend the Lighthouse Inn.
