For the second time in 2 years, I was in between apartments. The first time was a month, this time was 3 weeks. Both times, I primarily stayed at extended stay.
As much as my situation was a nightmare, to say that the staff at extended stay was accommodating, would be an understatement.
I've gone to other hotels and motels in the Manchester/Vernon area, and extended stay is definitely your best bang for your buck. Similar rated and priced hotels/motels like Best Stay, are far inferior in pretty much all aspects. Then you have the disgusting roach infested places like Vernon motel and Windham. The former has extremely rude staff, to top it off. Windham are friendly, just nasty. Now onto my extended stay review...
In fall of 2023, I was in between apartments for roughly a month. It was a nightmare. However, after the trial and error of the nasty local hotels, I gave extended Stay a shot. I was glad I did. Throughout that month, I stayed in several different rooms and pretty much all of them were great. All clean, non-smoking hotel (even though people break the rules, still.). Typically, hotels gross me out and I sleep on top of my comforter, and use my own pillows. I didn't have to do that here.
If there was any type of issue whatsoever, the staff wouldn't hesitate to take care of it immediately. At the time, June was the primary employee I dealt with and he was nothing but accommodating. Went out of his way to help me out due to my situation. Even after being there roughly a week and a half, he understood how bad things were for me, and would try to give me end unit rooms on higher floors, or rooms that are recently renovated. Things like that. He knew it wasn't a vacation for me and that I needed as much rest as possible. I even gave a glowing review back in 2023 after I was done there. This time's going to be no different.
I know I've written a lot so far, but there's a good reason for it. Starting on May 16th, I was on the hunt for an apartment yet again and was pretty much homeless like I was in 2023. So what do I do? I try places like Vernon motel, Wyndham. Mostly because they were 55 to 60 bucks, but like I said previously, it was so bad. So then I remembered how amazing extended stay was, and started staying there. Granted, they are a little more expensive than the previous hotels I mentioned, it's worth every penny.
June is still working there, and although I didn't deal with him him as much as I did previously, he was still great. Tyler was the primary person who helped me, and he was awesome. Also, Michael, Jameel, and management were incredible as well. Although I would be bummed checking in because yet another day went by not finding another place, they still went out of their way to make my stay the best it possibly could considering my situation. If I needed a half hour longer to check out, no problem. If I came in a little earlier, same thing. Obviously if it was a few hours later or earlier, there would be a charge, but they were really cool about adjusting, check-in and check out by a half hour or something like that.
Like last time, all the rooms were clean. I only stayed in three or four this time around, and pretty much stuck with it. All of the rooms were great. Had zero complaints. Showers and tubs were clean, which is huge for me! I get grossed out pretty easily when it's not in Tip-Top shape. Not going to lie. So the fact that they were consistent with cleanliness, was impressive.
The only thing is that the rates do fluctuate, like every hotel. So if you're staying every night, you're better off renting the week to save money. On average, you're probably going to spend around 100 per night. Most decent hotels in the area are at least 150 to 200, that's not including the $200 Hold a lot of hotels put on your credit card. Extended stay doesn't do that, by the way. They just put your card on file for incidentals, but that's it. No weird security deposit that they reimbursed to you a couple we
