It would be great if the brewery/pub stayed open until midnight on Friday and Saturday nights.

Best hotel close to restaurants, shops, and hot springs

This might be my favorite hotel of all time! Felt like a kid sneaking into the lobby before my family woke up for coffee and a quiet read.

It was pleasant and if the coffee shop and brew pub were not attached, I probably would not book.

The location, and I could walk everywhere.

No doorman to help with luggage. No concierge to answer questions or help. Front desk was short staffed all three days of my stay.

I keep coming back when I’m in the area but this hotel has consistently charming accommodations in a great location.

I stayed here many times when it was the Hotel Denver. The new owners made some excellent improvements but prices are still reasonable. The location is great - nice views across the river and close to the best restaurants.

Some noise from other guests leaks into the rooms.- not much more than on average.

we were in a room that was not even part of the hotel. There was a separate entrance and it may as well have been a rooming house. No drawers and tiny room. Barely room for luggage.

The location is the biggest benefit of this hotel. It is right downtown amongst all the restaurants and shops. I also liked that a very highly rated coffee shop is right in the lobby. It was so nice to walk downstairs and get a good latte in the mornings.

Once I booked this hotel, I started receiving messages from the hotel greeting me and asking me to reach out with anything that would make our stay special. So, I did. It was our anniversary, so I called and asked if they could have champagne flutes ready in our room, as we will be bringing a bottle of champagne. (Did not ask them to provide us with champagne or anything like that). They said no. Which is fine, but this is a hotel that is holding itself out to be upscale through its facade, lobby, and communications. This is not a chain hotel that provides plastic cups in the rooms. They have glass tumblers and glass coffee cups in the rooms, so someone is washing glassware somewhere. On the note of communications, once we arrived, I received texts asking that we reply if there is absolutely anything we need during our stay. So I did. I needed an extra blanket. No blanket or reply ever arrived. So the entire texting practice from beginning to end is fake and performative to seem fancy and accommodating when they really are not. Also the floors are wood in the hallways, so be prepared to be awoken early by the sound of roller bags.

While the room was very comfortable. The furnishings in the room seemed thrown together. There was no continuity. For example the reading lamp was lower than the chair next to it. The art was tiny and placed up next to the ceiling. (Possibly covering up something)? Bathroom vanity items on the desk.

Room was nice but people working there seem people to charge twice for parking.

Hotel looked great. I paid for my room when I checked ina nd was told $20 fee to park which is also paid at the time of check in. They took my card for incidentals and AGAIN charged me $30 from my deposit for parking. I wrote then saying this a mistake and I am happy to show them the $20 parking charge I paid separately at the time of booking and now my messages are being ignored. Such a pretty thing to do for a nice hotel looking hotel. Very disappointed.

Beautiful Old World Charm

Location perfect to walk to downtown area. Close to skywalk to hot springs. Beautiful hotel with old world charm and decor. Nice restaurant in hotel. Friendly staff. Clean. Our window looked out on part of roof with electrical boxes but beautifully hidden with stained glass mural.

I’m sorry to say the staff were - at best - average. At worst, they were terrible. There seems to have been no training in hospitality with the front desk staff either apathetic or rude. Additionally there were not enough to cover the work needed. It’s a shame because the hotel is generally clean and tidy. I do not like having the cleaning staff leave notes in the bedroom asking for tips, what is that about? Especially when you have to request a room service (be warned it doesn’t come without asking for it).

The staff was very nice and helpful.

The heating/AC was absolutely terrible. The AC would kick on and off every couple minutes. When I turned it off the room temp went up to an uncomfortable level in about 45 minutes.

Couple of things I wasn't overly appreciative of with this hotel. For starters, had a bit of a snafu when checking in; I don't have the same last name as my husband and so I was given a bit of grief trying to check in using his credit card despite it being the card I used to book, etc. First time in 10 years I've dealt with this but that definitely dampened the mood considerably for me. I was given stilted manufactured language lamenting that they do this for safety and how it is a general policy all hotels abide by (which is news to me) when I complained in their text app which I'm sure they'll replicate here if they deign to reply. From then on, the noise pollution one experiences in this hotel takes the cake. I live downtown in a city and the noise I heard here was more than what we deal with. I could hear someone loudly guffawing and speaking excitedly several times. Doors slamming. At 3 AM as well. Not sure if it was down the hall, next door, or close by but crystal clear and disruptive. Either way, when you read the reviews here lamenting the noise, believe them. I thought I would be safe being on the third floor but it doesn't matter apparently. The parking directions were also miscommunicated from the front desk towards me and my husband (who was driving/parking while I was checking us in) so that was a bit stunted/problematic as well. Finally, the price differences between the rooms are heavily apparent. For $349/night plus tax, I didn't expect a dark, dingy hovel of a room with a view of the interior atrium a la Embassy Suites but here we were. At least you all have a fridge in the room and the shower is decent but that's about it.

Historical hotel offering exceptional comfort

This is a beautiful hotel and is our second stay here. The staff is well trained and friendly while being efficient. The beds are very comfortable as well. The location is perfect as far as having many dining and shopping options within convenient walking distance. The views are great as well.

I would love to see coffee service in the morning. They offer in room coffee service via Keurig pods and there's a coffee shop downstairs. I generally don't enjoy Keurig coffee and the shop is expensive.

A classic Glenwood vibe

Close to everything in Glenwood! Pool, restaurants and shopping. The brewery and coffee shop in the hotel were fantastic. The lobby is cool and a great place to have a drink or coffee. Loved the convenience of the location and the walkable area.

The bathroom could have used a bench or table to put your toiletries on. The modern design didn’t have a place for your personal items. Front desk staff was nice, would have been nice to have a bellman to help unload our luggage as the front door and loading entrance is small and on the street. A lot of traffic and cars at check in with not a lot of space.

Everything was great, but the only I would recommend is to make I get a room that is not accessible! It could’ve been save for someone that might need it. But all in all, it worked out just fine.

My daughter and I took the train from Grand Junction (we live in Fruita and parked overnight at the Hilton Tru). The train times were perfect, the mid week hotel pricing was affordable? and the hotel location was literally across the street.

The rooms are really incredible. Really nicely decorated, well equipped with a safe, fridge and coffee machine. Bed was really comfortable. Coffee shop and bar inside the property which were really cool. Was also in walkable distance of restaurants and shops (and the supermarket is about 15 mins walk away).

Parking situation was a bit confusing. Had to go inside and ask where to park - I feel like it should have been better communicated with check-in email.

Fun anniversary overnight in very well-renovated historic hotel.

Perhaps it was because we were there on a Thursday and they weren't full, or perhaps it was because the very pleasant registration clerk liked that we were celebrating our 54th anniversary, but he evidently gave us a substantial room upgrade - river view, 3rd floor, very spacious, as well as a self-parking pass, normally $20. The hotel is fun - kinda like Fawtly Towers with the irregular floors and layout, a function of combining at least 3 buildings into one. But lots of antique furniture and stained glass in the hallways. Great coffee shop w/ fresh French pastries as well as the adjacent brewpub. With the recent renovation, everything was clean, neat, working well, etc. There are some tiny rooms down long hallways, along with some unusual room layouts and one with a big balcony - is it on the walk-up 4th floor? In all, very nice job of updating a historic hotel in a great location.
