    This place was surprisingly very affordable and really modern in design. Room was clean, had big bathroom, light up led mirror and nice tv.

    At check-in, the clerk asked for a $100 deposit, and it had to be cash only. I now understand that that is their actual policy, but when I asked if I would get a receipt, the clerk said that she would not provide one, and that raised red flags with me. She assured me that she would write down that I paid the deposit so that the morning clerk would be aware, and I would receive the money back at checkout. Maybe I'm missing something. But, unable to think of a legitimate reason that a business would refuse to provide a receipt for cash received, I politely insisted that I would need some kind of proof that I had paid the deposit. So she waived the deposit for that stay and said that I would still have to pay it "next time." That solution was satisfactory, but I was still left wondering exactly what was going on. The room was quite nice overall for a budget motel, and the bathroom, especially, was spacious. I appreciated that there was no carpet and no weird smells. The furnishings and flooring looked fairly new despite minor damage. There were stains on some of the towels. No place to hang my clothes except on the towel rack (so bring hangers.) There was a puddle of water on the floor when I arrived, and more kept dribbling out of the fridge. None of the drawbacks about the room would have been a big deal (I'm not hard to please), but because the check-in experience was concerning, I worried about how they might handle pre-existing minor damage in the room that I didn't immediately document on arrival. That made my stay less pleasant than it could have been. If cash deposits with no receipts is really their policy, they need to understand what that implies to people who are trying to do business with them. Overall, I would rate the room itself pretty highly. But I personally don't plan to stay there again because I don't hand over $100 in cash to a stranger without a receipt.
