Not sure if this is a problem With the hotel Or with booking.com but our reservation didn’t go through even though on booking.com it says it did. This has happened twice with Hampton inn’s and booking.com. Regardless, our 2 queen room was no longer available but the manager was very apologetic and made up for it, making sure we tried out the pullout and even brought in a rollaway to accommodate us. Things happen but this manager was fantastic trying to make it work. Really appreciate it.

The hotel is exceptionally clean and the views of Lake Superior from the breakfast area are fanstastic. The staff are very helpful and friendly.

Overall the facility did not meet my expectations. I get the sense they charge this much for a sterile, bland accommodation because other facilities in the area, with more to offer, do so. For a suite that costs over $500 per night I expect better amenities. At the very least there should be glassware and actual coffee mugs instead of only offering paper cups. Better lighting and finishes in the suite might also help, instead of the same for look you find in cheaper hotels in the middle of nowhere.. The free self-serve breakfast was served in what amounts to a large cafeteria that was overly bright and very uninviting. The fact that the suite had no view of the water, even though the building is right on the lakefront, was very disappointing since this was not made clear when reserving. I guess that's my fault for not asking - lesson learned. The only reason to stay here again is as a last option if there is nothing else available in the city.
