We hadn't been to Avila Beach previously. Pleasantly surprised how nice the area was.

Breakfast could be a little better. It's great that it's included. It looked like the hot food was on warmers but I commented daily that the food was not hot, not sure I'd even call it warm. On a scale of 1-10, I'd give the food served a 5. If it could get to a 7-7 1/2 that would be a welcome improvement.

Peaceful stay by the coast.

The hotel was right on the coast and we had a front facing ocean view. The apartment was great as we had plenty of space. Lovely little coastal village. The pool and hot tub were great.

For one night it was expensive, the breakfast room didn't have enough room to sit down in. Also the town was surrounded in fog, we might have been unfortunate but took some time to clear.

Perfect location. Grounds we very well kept and clean. Room was in great spot by the pool, the only thing i would do different would opt for 2nd floor, better view of ocean. right by restaurants park and beach.

Great view and location

We stayed in a king suite ocean front. Nice views. Great location to the village. Good breakfast. Staff was very friendly. They had free beach items and aquarium tickets. Micro, frig, small bar sink. Robes. Nice balcony.

They were out of hotel room maps so I took a picture. The gate to get in from the beach was not working. Looked like water damage next to the toilet and the paint was coming off. Could not get the heater to come on, so it was cold in the room. They should provide paper towels in the mini kitchen. Would have enjoyed a room away from the pool and grass area, the screaming children did not make it very relaxing. Ask for a room in the front, near the beach parking, it will be quieter.

A nice place to stay while exploring the coast.

Needed a little getaway and the Avila lighthouse suite was perfect. Clean and comfortable walking distance to cute shops and overlooking the beach. Arriving on free pie night and waking up to breakfast included were unexpected bonuses. Only thing we would change is to stay longer next time.

#126 is to close to the numerous celebrations (weddings, etc . 50 feet from my room. Kids everywhere (no holiday parties. Pick up trucks blocking exit, and registration parking area.

Amazing gem of a hotel

This is a beautiful gem of a hotel and location if you're looking for a traditional beach holiday, especially for families. Staff were amazing, especially Nicole who helped us so much during our stay. The location is amazing, the decor is beautiful, it's super clean and a really good spot to enjoy the Californian coast with kids, since the waves are a bit more gentle. The hotel was a total hit with our kids, they loved the pool and jacuzzi!

Great place for families. Would definitely visit again.

Great location, close to beach, park, restaurants. The property has beach chairs and umbrellas to use. They had a live DJ and taco bar (small fee) at the pool on Sat afternoon. There's also a giant checkerboard game, small putting green and cornhole on site. Very family friendly!

Gorgeous, clean and beach accessible property!

Everything from check in to check out was phenomenal. Maria checked us in and she was so friendly and welcoming. There was a little misunderstanding with the booking (not Avila Lighthouse's fault) and she gave us a lovely bottle of wine to make up for it. We were also offered beach chairs and boogie boards if desired. The chairs actually came in handy on the beach, which is literally across the street. The room was large and super clean. Loved our balcony with a view of the ocean. If you can do it, pay the extra to get the ocean view. It is worth it. The continental breakfast was fresh and had a great selection of items. We didn't use the pool, but it looked clean and a decent size. The staff at breakfast and all over the property were cheerful and helpful. The hotel is right on the main strip, so plenty of shops and restaurants are walking distance. We can't wait to come back!

Overall, a very enjoyable stay, we enjoyed the relaxed vibe and will plan on returning.

We had a very large suite (104) that comfortably accommodated 3 adults and one child. We especially liked the easy access to the beach and the pool area. We also appreciated the family friendly atmosphere, the lawn games and availability of beach chairs. I also really liked the coastal cottage design of the hotel. Front desk personnel received us very warmly and were always very responsive to questions and/or needs. We certainly appreciarted that breakfast is included.

The breakfast room felt chaotic. The traffic flow really needs improvement. It does not work to have dish ware under the counter especially where the waffle machine and cereal are located. That area was always congested, people were having to reach in front of others and under to reach dishes and bowls, people would place their plates with food in front of the cereal while waiting for the waffle machine...also, the yogurt and fruit bar is not well placed, too close to the front door and the waffle machine, it was difficult to get around people in this area.

Sweet small in a charming little beach town.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from the photos, but was pleasantly surprised! Comfortable rooms, great facilities, and an excellent location- plus the offer of beach chairs, breakfast etc that made it feel like they actually cared that you had a great vacation! Staff were always enthusiastically helpful.

Avila beach experience was much better in Avila Lighthouse. We are glad.

Everything!! we liked everything!! The room was outstanding cleaned and cozy. The pool was great. The breakfast was yummy, just the coffee could be a little bit stronger, but I have nothing to say but good things about this hotel. We will come back for sure. The staff very polite and friendly. They borrowed some beach stuff for us with no extra charge. Very nice! We just loved the experience.

We rented a suite which was a waist of money for a couple, the suites are separated into two rooms, sitting area is dark and does not have a view of anything, maybe good for a family that needs separation. Bedroom area has the beach view so we never left the bedroom. Also, there are no dishes, paper towels, silverware or wine opener you would expect in a suite. Breakfast was also disappointing. Beach front is sort of false advertising as there is a very busy street between your room and the beach.

Staff, late check out, location, no car needed, easy access to everything. I night with daughter, her husband and 2 college age granddaughters, all from Iowa.

Sleeper bed was about a 2 out of 10. Only negative about the whole stay.
