This is a great, comfortable, and affordable place to stay when visiting Big Bear.

It was in a great central location and made everything easily accessible. The rooms and cabins were very quaint and set in the woods just enough to have trees all around. We stayed in a cabin and used the fireplace and spa tub. A wonderful overall stay.

To be honest, I have no complaints. the water worked, the bed was comfortable and all of the tools for the fireplace were available.

The lodge is incredibly charming, my kiddos absolutely loved the place, and enjoyed playing on the boat + swimming pool. My wife and I had an amazing time, and will plan to revisit

"Katy" cabin was perfect!

I stayed in Katy Cabin. The cabin was so cute!! It was clean and decorated so nice. It had a huge jacuzzi bathtub next to the bed. A little kitchen with a fridge and microwave, a nice shower, and a cute little patio with a table located right next to the pool. The pool was heated, the jacuzzi was hot, there was a little bonfire thing lit outside, the staff was very kind. I will absolutely be coming back.

The location and cabins were nice

The cabins were wonderful and it was close to the village and lake which was nice. Bed was comfortable and morning coffee and pastries in front lobby were convenient

Construction going on constantly. Couldn’t sit on patio due to noise and paint smell which was the reason I chose my cabin so I could work outside. I just chose a bad time to go I guess. Shower was small and uncomfortable to stand in.

A peaceful getaway in a beautiful setting — we’d gladly come back!

We really enjoyed our stay! The location was perfect — peaceful and convenient — and the property itself was clean, well-maintained, and had a lovely atmosphere. Everything was exactly as described.

The only downside was the uncomfortable sofa-bed and the high pillows, but that’s just a personal preference. Overall, we had a wonderful time and truly relaxed.

The pool clearly provided great recreation for residents.

1. The room was hot. 2. The desk clerk upon arrival was unhappy the I interrupted her. (The desk clerk in the morning was very nice.) 3. There was no screen on the window; therefore, I was unable to get cool air into the room when I closed the entrance door to go to bed. 4. The shower was upgraded; yet, there was no shelf in the shower??? There were no hand towels provided. 5. Not all lights were functional.

Still my favorite place to stay, just this trip was bad from the roof construction without warning.

This is my absolute FAVORITE Hotel to stay at and I always will. The location is great and amazing. The staff is also great and friendly. I LOVE the hot tub in the room. Makes the stay so much better.

This time the noise was annoying. There was roof construction which was so loud and didn't allow us to sleep in. They worked right above our room and there was no warning from the hotel. This made it a horrible getaway. We couldn't sleep in, there was no discount for having such a loud area at a hotel. Tey left a mess in the parking lot where we stayed. This is still my favorite place but for the price paid and since I work at a middle school, we were hoping for a more relaxful getaway on our spring break.

I was so greatful to find this place , we checked in to a different place friday and had issues with the heater, leaking toliet which lefted a huge puddle in front of the toilet which I stepped in , in the middle of the night not pleasant. Stayed awake found black forest lodge and checked in on sat urday was wonderful, bed so comfy ,and the jacuzzi OMG was wonderful ...I give this place a 50 out of 10....WAS AWESOME

It was very outdated. Very wild floral wallpaper which was not shown in the photos online. The heater or water heater makes a very loud sound in the middle of the night. The furniture and carpet were very worn down and there was a strong odor in the room.

Perfect, romantic

Front desk took extremely good care of us. Definitely recommend to anyone. Near the village. We walked there and back with no issues. About 1 mile round trip! We had the cabin in the back corner. Gretchen

It was my first time in big Bear, and the Black Forest Lodge, was very convenient for getting to hiking trails, shopping

Great location. The Village and the lake were both within walking distance. I also loved having my own little balcony. The pool looked lovely, even though I didn’t use it. The coffee available and the reception area was excellent, and I loved having the ice machine so nearby my room. Room, it’s obviously enormous, with a lovely fireplace.

Crossing the very busy highway to get to the lake side. The old furnishings had their pros and cons. I loved the big desk in the room, which allowed me to do watercolour painting. On the negative side, the old thick rug was clean, but probably full of dust because I did a lot of sneezing when I came back in every evening.

Neat place to stay if you're not expecting much from a hotel.

Loved the scenery and how cozy-looking both the lobby and the room was. Enjoyed a neat little 5-minute swim as well after I had stayed overnight. Overall an acceptable experience you'd get from a more cheaper hotel.

I'd suggest either asking for a fan or staying over for the winter. The room was quite warm during the night and I had trouble sleeping even with the cooler on and the blankets off. TV was pretty glitchy too as it froze every few minutes while watching.
