Slice of heaven!

Absolutely loved my stay here. Stayed for 3 nights but could have easily stayed longer. Beautiful haven away from the hustle & bustle of cities. Private beach, very limited WiFi & absolute peace. If you're looking to switch off for a couple of days this is the place to be. Didier & all the staff are so welcoming & go out of their way to help you with whatever you need. Would definitely return!

This property is peaceful, beautiful and comfortable.

This property is amazing! The location is dreamy. The beaches are basically your own private oasis. The resort is picturesque and the owner and other staff are so friendly and accommodating. We loved our stay here and wished we could stay longer. I am dreaming of my next visit. We almost didn’t want to explore the rest of the island because we didn’t want to miss out on experiencing this beautiful resort.

Back to nature by the sea.

Beautiful setting right by the sea. Staff were great and kitchen area and bar were spotless. Has a laid back traveller vibe but also quiet. Beds were comfy but very basic huts and some mosquitos.

Perfection

Honestly I loved everything. I'm from Brazil so beautiful beaches are no news to me but Cast Away is just spectacular! I don't think a view can get any prettier. I also loved the contact with the nature and the two dogs that were there, playing with them made our stay even better. The common areas were remarkably clean and we found everything we needed. Didier, the host, is another highlight - since the reservation, he's been nothing but kind and informative. I would love to return to this place!

Natural simplicity

Castaway is true to its ethos and charming in its simplicity. The staff members are all lovely and run a relaxed, but efficient enough operation. The tents are small, but comfortable, and nothing beats listening to the calming sounds of the sea during the night. The beach is very close by and it is possible to rent kayaks and SUPs to add to the fun!

Consider putting up another outside shower just to be able to rinse off when you come back from the beach.

The hostel is full of kind and interesting people, my friend and I felt very safe and relaxed :) I would leave my phone in the kitchen for hours and hours at a time and it would always be exactly where I put it :) The staff are so kind and welcoming !

A wonderful getaway!

This was the favorite place on our backpacking trip in Croatia! The place is in the middle of nowhere and has its own private beach. The staff is wonderful, they make you feel at home instantly. Also the other guests were very nice, many typically extend their stay, we would have done the same, if we hadn't booked the rest of our trip in advance already. I would always come back. Thank you again Didier and staff!!!

Exceptional

My husband and I spent 3 nights there and were amazed by the exclusive pebble beaches, kayak hire for excursions and the environment that forces you to relax. You cannot help but love the location. If you're already looking at the reviews for this place, I'm sure you are not looking for a 5 star luxury hotel. What this place can offer is views to die for and provide a detox to many fast-paced lifestyles. But the real gem are the people. You will meet lovely like-minded people but the staff are some of the most welcoming and down to earth people you will ever meet. Santa, Toni, Jonah, Beth, Tom, Paul (currently working on more constructions for the site) and the owner Didier were an absolute pleasure to talk to and would hang around on days off just soaking in the atmosphere with all the other campers. This place creates a sense of community, even if you are there for one night. I would say that you can easily be by yourself and just enjoy your own company, on one of the many secluded beaches, but it is hard not to get involved. We would love to come back as I think we have found our new spot to get away and to truly slow down and appreciate the little things in life. Thank you so so for your hospitality, Saul and Kasia xxx

Bad for leisure

Nature paradise and nice snorkeling location near by.

Wrong and misleading directions to find the location! Let's say that I didn't expect heavy machineries and construction work at a place called "Cast away". Not properly working kitchen sink and honestly - dirty kitchen. The manager were not aware that the is no water for toilet use and we couldn't use the toilet for basic needs for more than 10 hours!

It is absolutely beautiful here. Truly - for the price its a knockout. Isolated beaches, offers activities, beautiful views, great tents & very relaxing. It was a mini cheap paradise.

Personally, half the staff were absolutely amazing. Christina was an absolute queen, alongside a lovely Argentian woman. The other half felt quite unapproachable

pure magic

Cast away is clearly a very unique place. You feel relaxed and welcome just at the very moment you arrive, the staff is lovely and so is the area - with a lot of personal touch to it. I do recommend to stay there for more than one night, we prolonged our stay to chill a bit more and soak in the serenity. The atmosphere is really special: smart tiny houses, the views&beach, the bar and drinks, lights, hammocks&seats, the moon, people, the history of this place. I’d say it’s not for everybody though. There’s a lot of amenities and everything is well organised, but you should keep it mind it’s all well… kinda wild :) (which may be both: pro or con). It’s kind of place you want to shout about and keep it as your secret at the same time ;)

This. was. unbelievable. It's a wonderfull experience. We only stayed for 1 night. Too short! You have to stay at least 2 nights, I think. A lot of mosquitos, so bring something with you. It was one of the best experiences in my life. Beautiful, sweet, open-minded staff. Good drinks. I only missed breakfast (something little like a Croissant). But for the rest: wauw. We will definitely come back!

Tranquil paradise

Daniel was fantastic and really made our stay. Nothing was too much, helping us with the bbq, carrying the paddleboards down to the beach and coaching us through the bumpy road on our hangovers from Hvar Town. Hopefully catch you at the festival soon dude! The place itself is beautiful and a great way to escape for a few days (or week if you have the time!).

NATURA E RELAX E BELLE AMICIZIE

La struttura è perfetta se si cerca il contatto con la natura e il relax. Panorama mozzafiato, tende in legno accoglienti. Serve viaggiare leggeri, poco bagaglio e sapere che si è un po' isolati. Servono anche spray antizanzare. La cucina ha tutto e c'è barbecue e forno per pizza. Non manca nulla. Abbiamo conosciuto tante belle persone, condiviso cene e momenti di relax. Spero di poter tornare!!

Il trasporto dei bagagli dall'auto alla struttura è un po' difficile. Basta saperlo e organizzarsi con poche cose!

De locatie is paradijselijk! Als je echt de stekker wil uittrekken, is dit je bestemming. Puur natuur en weg van de drukte en gekte van toerisme. Super vriendelijk personeel en een Didier die zich enorm inzet om de gasten zich thuis te laten voelen. De ideale plaats voor liefhebbers van rust en pure natuur.

Fantastische locatie

Wat een fantastische plek! Wij hebben hier 4 dagen genoten van de rust en natuur. Het uitzicht is prachtig en daarvan hebben wij heerlijk kunnen genieten in de vele hangmatten en banken die op het terrein staan. Verder waren de bedden lekker, het personeel onwijs vriendelijk, de keuken van alle gemakken voorzien en de toiletten prima schoon. Ook genoten wij zo van de honden die over het terrein liepen en natuurlijk de BBQ die er staat.

Grote aanrader!!

Het uitzicht vanuit ons tentje was prachtig! We ontwaakten s ochtend met uitzicht op de helderblauwe zee, en aan het eind van de dag genoten we van de prachtige zonsondergangen. Wij hadden tent Didier - genoemd naar de zeer aardige eigenaar - en die vonden we het mooist. Je klimt even naar beneden de rotsen af naar het strandje om daar in het heldere water te zwemmen (wel een kiezelstrand). In het barretje genoten we van heerlijke Pina colada’s. Geserveerd door enorm vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Als je wilt kun je met de andere gasten contact maken, maar het hoeft niet. In de keuken kun je je eigen eten klaarmaken, en benodigdheden als zout en peper, olie, etc zijn aanwezig. Gasten laten ook etenswaren achter die ze niet meer nodig hebben, wat soms ook handig kan zijn.

Het laatste deel van de onverharde weg ernaartoe kan met de auto een beetje een uitdaging zijn, als je een tegenligger tegenkomt. Maar dat is ook de reden waarom het zo’n rustig paradijsje is. Je kunt ook gebruik maken van de gratis shuttlebus.

Gezellig kamp midden in rustgevende natuur

De locatie van de slaapplekken is echt prachtig! Superdicht bij de zee waar je in kunt zwemmen, prachtig uitzicht, een mooi ingericht ‘kamp’ met allerlei plekken om te eten, chillen, barbecueën, etc. De host is aardig en flexibel en deed zijn best om te accomoderen aan onze behoeften, en met de andere medewerkers hebben we gezellig kaartspelletjes gedaan. Deze plek is leuk om te bezoeken als stel, maar als alleenreizende is dit ook echt superleuk denk ik!

Ons beviel alles, maar ben je er wel van bewust dat je naar een ‘kamp’ gaat. Je moet dus je eigen eten meenemen en het niet erg vinden om iets minder comfort te hebben :) Wij vonden het heerlijk.
