Excellent choice

The room was clean and every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. The area was quiet while we were there. I say that because there is construction going on next door but we were there on a holiday so they weren't working. Might be noisy during the day other times. They have a nice little gym/sauna/game room that the kids enjoyed. The breakfast was excellent! Lots of hot and cold choices and even the picky kid found something!

Check-in young woman was very nice! She made me feel welcomed. The room was very nice. Shower was perfect for handicapped person except for stepping into the tub!! It's fairly quiet. I got great sleep.

We were very impressed with the variety of breakfast options, clean and quiet room downstairs as we requested was a nice touch as well. All of the staff were nice and professional and everything worked with no issues. We will see you next fall for the foliage color changes. Thank you.

Hotel was a great value and exceeded my expectations. (Don't judge it by its motel looking exterior)

The room was much more modern and comfortable than expected and fully stocked with everything needed. It was very clean and you could tell care was put into making it look good even down to the towel and tissue paper folding. The room actually had plenty of light which is usually a struggle for me in hotel rooms. There were outlets everywhere so no issues plugging in your electronics anywhere you wanted in the room. The shower was super steamy so i was actually able to hang my wrinkled suit in the bathroom for a few minutes in the steam to let it loosen up before a wedding i was attending. The coffee in the room was good even though it was one of those basic coffee makers with the little pouch coffee. The hotel staff was all very friendly from the front desk to the housekeeping staff. They even let a bunch of us check in a few hours early as soon as they had finished a room since we were all rushing to get to a wedding before the actual check-in time.

The hotel was sold out that night and parking was limited. When i came back late at night there were only a couple spots left at the other side of the property. Not a huge deal, I got a spot, but just something to keep in mind if you plan to have more than one vehicle or are arriving very late. The breakfast is pretty early, i think it was over by 9:30 so even though checkout is 11a you can't really sleep in if you want to take advantage. I skipped it so i'm not sure what it's like. The housekeeping staff did come by a little after 10a and knocked to see if i was still there. It was a little annoying since i was in the bathroom and trying to get ready to leave. Having been able to check-in early i completely appreciate them wanting to turn a room around ASAP for the next person but maybe there needs to be a better system like a hangtag or something so you don't have to bother people if they're not ready to check out yet.

Gateway Inn and Suites is a typical motel with spacious room and an additional sofa and table. Staff is really nice, though have to pay attention the check-in time is before 10pm though she told me all the staff mostly stay close and will pick up the phone if there’s anything. Our first room was surprisingly not ready with sheet all around the ground but she immediately change a clean room for us and checked for the other room. Breakfast is included and quite good! And the lobby looks so nice!

The air-conditioner was really loud and I didn’t find anywhere to shun it down. Same loud in the bathroom with the lights on (automatically turn on the ventilator). It is a little bit old I guess. Was cold but didn't find anywhere to turn off the airconditioning.

It was clean, had a comfortable bed, met our basic needs for our stay, and had a nice hot cooked breakfast. Good value.

Our room was very small so the fan of the a/c was about 3 ft from my head and blows continuously and loudly, so I hardly slept at all. I discovered the next morning that the only way to stop the fan from blowing was to turn the unit off. Wish I had known that sooner, I would have opted for a stuffy quiet room over a noisy fan so close to my head. The two chairs took too much room and were not comfortable. Very little floor space for our bags. The pillows were very firm.

Well...the room had a loud fridge inside. We asked for a blanket and were given a thin polyester bed cover. They don't restock food after 9am even though breakfast is available until 9:30am (so get there earlyenoughto get food). The staff also had a dog inside their kitchen.

Decent place for a reasonable price; easy walking distance of downtown; nice breakfast.

I really appreciated that the mini-fridge had an actual freezer in it with a separate door that could be closed, just like a regular fridge. This allowed us to keep our coolers' icepacks frozen overnight, which was great because we had a fair amount of food with us that we were taking to an ill relative. I was also glad that there were some good places nearby to get in a little hiking in the afternoon, which was great after spending hours in the car.

I was most disappointed that the person staffing the deck the evening that we arrived wasn't able to give us restaurant recommendations. (S)(t)he(y) said (s)(t)he(y) never ate out and from what others said every place was good.

Our family Go-To for Salida

They allowed me to check in early for a virtual appt, which I appreciated. The breakfast has a TON of options, something for everyone. The rooms are always clean and the property is kept up nicely.

This is the first time we've stayed there and didn't have comfy beds. I booked a double full room and the beds were not very comfortable. Additionally, the A/C unit would not stay on all night so we went from freezing when it was on, to really hot when it shut itself off.
