The fact it was close to the beach
The service was inconsistent . It was either really bad or really good. For example, Jared in valet and taking bags was great as was a check-in guy who was blondish with a beard. Our server for lunch Saturday excellent. So were the spa people. The gift shop person was very rude. The shop was closed all the time. The hotel color very drab and depressing. Needs an uplift. The beach was the highlight.

Chandlers was nice. The beach was a walk and over a hundred feet of steps to get down, and back up. The shuttle was busy and we were told it’s a busy time.
Getting to beach across Carlsbad Blvd. Almost got hit once crossing on green WITH a walk signal!
