This is the place to stay in Key West.

A graceful property with charm and style, The Gardens Hotel is an oasis in Key West. The beds and linens are sublime. The location is ideal. The eponymous gardens are special. The staff are genuinely additive to the experience, particularly Phil the bartender.

You can hear your neighbors through the walls.

Tropical oasis

As the name implies, this hotel is surrounded by tropical plants and incredible tasteful collections placed in the garden by the owner. It is clean and every evening at around five they offer some music. We were promised a certain room by booking, but was given to someone else. The replacement was not suitable for two people. It was too big and it was above the main lobby, so not very quiet.

Unfortunately, the receptionist, rather than honoring what we were supposed to have signed up for, blamed booking.com for the fact that that particular room was not available. This is something booking needs to work on with this hotel. The included breakfast was well presented but limited, and but not very personalized, and there needs to be an attitude adjustment on part of the server.

Breathtaking

The grounds were absolutely breathtaking. The details in which the staff took care of us, especially Richard the bartender and Ray at front desk. We were on our honeymoon and it couldn't have been more magical. Wonderful location too!

excellent master suite book with confidence

impressive master suite, quiet and very comfortable mattress, had a great night sleep. close to the bars and nightlife without being noisy. it’s rare to feel at home when away, but when entering the hotel later at night the lounge and guest area immediately felt familiar and made us feel at home. the garden grounds were beautiful and well taken care of. the private terrace off the master suite is an excellent option for the morning breakfast or just lounging and sunbathing in a much more private setting. don’t hesitate to book, this place is one of a kind. strongly consider the master suite.

the place was excellent, this is just knit picky - the coffee machine was missing a mug (just one), the glasses beside the sink were scratched, some of the towel rails felt a little loose.

Everything was very good and we will definitely come back. Staff was friendly and helpful. The owner even deposited a little toy and some treats for our dog in the room. We thought that was very sweet and had never seen something like this before.

my husband and I were very unhappy and disappointed

bed was comfortable

no hot water first day, had cockroaches in room, adjoining room smelled like pot every time we went to the bathroom or to take a shower. heard neighbors talking inside cottage. Street and sidewalk flooded and couldn’t get in or out of cottage without taking shoes off and pulling up clothing. no options for breakfast

We loved everything about The Gardens! It was clean, beautiful, and in a perfect location!

The staff was so welcoming! It was raining the day we arrived and they called to make sure our travels were going smoothly. The hotel is so pretty! It is obvious that the staff sees the hotel as home and it treats the grounds, animals, and guest as family.
