Very basic motel, which serves the purpose of having place to rest for a short period.

The value and location were decent, and they provide a microwave and refrigerator

No cups. The floors were dirty. Vents needed to be cleaned, hair dryer didn't work, and the smoke detector was missing.

For a guy spending one night it was OK, but I wouldn't bring my wife there.

This building is very old and has not been remodeled in many years by the look of it. The bed was terrible and I'm not picky. There was a one-inch space under the door, and the decor was nonexistent. (One old picture in the room.) I will say that the room was clean. The picture on the website does not look anything like the present hotel. The manager from behind a plexiglass barrier in the front desk area after being buzzed in, was very nice.

Arrive late, leave early, and be happy with the money you save at this clean charmless inn

Cost is the main reason to stay here, perhaps the only reason, other than it's safe and clean. Perfect for a traveler on the tightest of budgets. With all the money you save you can walk across the street and have a great meal at The City Fish, a seafood restaurant favored by locals. Most memorable attraction is the family of swallows nesting under the inn's eaves.

Don't expect even some of the most basic amenities found at other low-cost lodging establishments. At Morgan Hill Inn you get bedside end tables without lamps, a sink without a towel rack nearby, cable TV that airs only 20-year old series and college sports. No desk, closet, chest of drawers, or anywhere to rest your suitcase. But hey, we felt ultra safe with four(!) fire sprinklers dangling from the ceiling of our room. A high powered light, strong enough to illuminate a prison yard is mounted over the motel office entrance and penetrates the blinds in the upstairs rooms across the way. The harsh light and constant traffic noise was jarring though the excellent heater-air conditioner did muffle much of the sound.

Overall, my stay and expectations definitely convinced me to go back for future reservations.

Stayed one night (Feb ‘25)at first then went back for 2 more nights. Felt safe, it was clean, quiet, the owners do all the cleaning and are friendly. The parking lot is well lit. Conscientious owners. Good value.

The bathroom was clean. Free HBO. No prostitutes. Well lit.

The pillows were dirty. There was no soap. Not enough towels. It was very noisy. The heater was broken. The drawers had stuff from the last person who stayed there. The door was not secure.

Morgan Hill Inn is a great spot to rest before a nice hike, or visiting with the fam

This is a cozy room for less than $100 a night, just for sleeping, it was great. We initially had the room above the office, and could hear everything from there, but the very friendly man who checked us in gave us another room towards the back, with a much nicer vibe. There is a great travel shop in a car wash across the street with some unique gifts, and several restaurants within walking distance, such as Betsys diner (family owned since 1981). We had a fat delicious breakfast before heading off to Uvas Canyon (reservations a must). Pro: helpful staff, great location, spacious, fairly clean, no bugs, and comfy bed. Also several movie channels. Con: dated, no mic, fridge or coffee maker (in our room anyway)

The place is pretty dated, with well used furniture, and the old plastic type patterned comforters and polyester blankets. The sheets were crisp and clean and soft, with a comfy mattress and pillows. No fridge in our room for leftovers, but no bugs either.

Place was run down, homeless people in the parking lot, baby constantly crying next door, adult female yelling obscenities at the baby, tv remote didnt work, dirty exterior and the place did not meet my expectations as advertised.

Work in Progress

The motel is close to downtown Morgan Hill and was quiet and felt safe throughout my stay. The owner, Mr. Patel, also was friendly and seemed to care about the well-being of his guests. The motel is a work in progress, but Mr. Patel is seeking to improve it and is taking the initiative.

Because the hotel is under new ownership, the property is in transition. Some aspects of my stay could have used improvement, for example, the cleanliness of the room, needing daily maid service, updating some of the fixtures, and improving the quality of the towels.

Didnt smell like smoke. No noise at night. My gas was not siphoned.

Busy parking lot even at 10 PM. Terrible shower head. No fan in bathroom. Big dangerous step out of bathtub. Beds were uncomfortably hard. Sink was clogged/draining very slow. Light over sink was out. No complimentary little bar soap. Floors were dirty made my wife's bare feet black. No ice machine.

The worst experience.

Very dirty! Bed sheets and all bedding was very unpleasant, with stains. On the floor you could see step prints. Toilet was with old urine drops and a layer of dust. We reserved the room for a party of 4, but there were only 2 towels provided and in a horrible condition and small size. Would never recommend this.

Fair stay. I'd return again.

The bed was comfortable. And the room was spacious. I usually have trouble sleeping but the bed was comfortable enough for me to go straight to sleep!

The automatic lock didn't really lock. Luckily i didn't have anything in the room when i had to step out. It also smelled heavily like cigarette smoke.
