It was an odd trip. I travel 100 nights a year for work and love road trips, and I judge hotels on charm, comfort, and cleanliness. Lafayette passes, but the price point was a bit off. One year after my first visit to Marietta, which was quite enjoyable, I returned. But the hotel price was about 50% higher. The town was empty in later August. The hotel's Starbucks counter was out of business. And when I checked out at 11, there was eerie silence--no one around. Spent two nights. The hotel is good. Clean, comfy, and some history. If not for the deal on Agoda, I would have spent *** for two nights, but instead spent about ***.

Great location with easy walkability to shops and along the riverwalk of the Ohio River. Convenient parking both front and back. Staff is friendly. Hotel is older with large lobby decorated with furniture from a bygone era. The hotel has a musty odor at times but clean. Reliable Wi-Fi available.

I landed here at the end of a hard business trip at the recommendation of my local contact. Heart of the town, on the river and a glimpse of the past grandeur, except an efficient and full service hotel is just below the surface. Give it a try and don’t buy the rumors the place is haunted!
