Lovely couple of Calistoga days

A lovely, funky, boutique, heritage hotel in a great location in Calistoga! The room was clean, comfy and beautifully decorated. Nicole, who checked us in was so lovely, helpful and friendly and we really loved the cafe! It was an easy walk everywhere and really quiet at night.

Nothing! We had a really restful stay. It is next door to a cafe, but this didn’t bother or disturb us at all and I loved that we could get great coffee and breakfast so close!

Short stay in Calistoga

Our room was clean and well decorated with a heated floor and toilet seat in the bathroom. I appreciated that daily tidying was available and that the rooms had expresso makers. The property also has parking for guests, around back, and is very well located in terms of proximity to the main areas. The front desk team were also very friendly and had great recommendations! The on-site cafe had great coffee and sandwiches. There were also bikes available for use, unfortunately the cold rainy weather meant we didn't get to use them.

Rooms 1 and 4 share a wall with the cafe; if you're a light sleeper this may not be great as it sounded like the staff arrive at 6 for a 7am opening. The music played outside also starts at 7:45 and was audible in our room - the first song on 1/1 was Don't stop believing. Finally, this wasn't an issue for us as it was cold and rainy, but the outside seating for the cafe and hotel guests extends around the exterior of the property in a U shape with the rooms in the center. The majority of the rooms opened out into this space. This could be a good or bad thing depending on how much privacy you're looking for.

Quaint, quiet and quality accommodation

All the little touches and extras. Lovely renovated rooms with heated flooring and toilet seats. Beds are comfortable. Propper coffee can be bought from the shop on site and the breakfast options are tasty. Free parking at rear, keyless entry. Opposite from Indian Springs.

Ruined what should have been a beautiful stay for us.

Location was beautiful, unfortunately, outside property speakers starting playing music AT 5:45 AM! My husband got up to ask the kitchen crew to please turn down music around 6 AM but cafe wasn't even open. I don't think music was turned off until the kitchen staff showed up. Completely ruined our entire stay. Apparently, the timer was off for the music to go on. We were credited $50 but this did not make up for our ruined sleep.

A charming historic building, but lacks privacy

The property is located in a beautiful historic building, yet it has been updated with modern facilities. The property provides bicycles for guests, which makes it easy to get around. Its central location makes it easy to explore the surrounding area.

The rooms are located on the ground floor with large windows by a coffee place. There was some foot traffic near our windows in the morning, which impacted privacy. The property offers self check-in, but the lock on ours was quite weak as the battery was running low, and we had some difficulty getting inside. The next morning, the battery completely died, which made it impossible to lock the door. I reached out to the host for assistance, but unfortunately didn’t receive support at that time.

Wonderful

The room was incredibly clean and everything was so thoughtfully put together! They have bikes you can use which we would have if we stayed longer, tons of cute restaurants, wineries, and shops to walk to. Gorgeous scenic drive to the inn as well because it's at the very end of Napa Valley but honestly it wasn't too bad - we were able to do so many things and it only took about 20 minutes to get back to the hotel each time

It would've been great if the pillows were a little more fluffy/had more cushion but overall the bed was comfortable

A very beautiful address

The Brannan cottage Inn is perfectly located for walking access to the restaurants. The self check in is easy (thank you Nicole) We occupied the room n°5. It's was very nicely, cozy, spotlessly clean. The outdoor areas are nice too. We did not test the coffee, maybe next time. We very much enjoyed this property.

Charming Stay with Attention to Detail

A stay at this cutie is a must for anyone looking to truly experience comfort and charm. The cleanliness and attention to detail are evident throughout, making for a delightful stay. The staff's friendliness only adds to the positive atmosphere.

The only minor issue we encountered was the proximity of our room to the cafe, resulting in some traffic noise. However, this was not overly disruptive and did not detract significantly from our overall enjoyment. Despite this small inconvenience, we fully intend to return in the future.

Great Stay- Location & Place

the rooms are nice and cosy, clean. you get a coffee maker in the room with 2-3 pods included. free snacks in the room. the bathroom floors are heated, you get extra towels and a bathrobe. the outdoor area it’s lovely: fire pit, garden, a coffee shop in the same building. the location is central- walking distance to restaurants, bars, wine tasting rooms. free bikes on site- which was lovely. Overall, a great experience.

The room description clearly stated “Balcony” and the room had no balcony whatsoever. I provided the proof that it SHOULD have a balcony and they said I booked another type of room. It was not a different room type, they have to edit on Booking what each room includes- that was a bit of a catfish. But this did not affect our experience at all and doesn’t make the property or management bad in any way. I booked it on the last minute and when I got there the reception was closed and the instructions on what to do in that case were on the door. After 10 hours of driving, it would have been helpful to get an automatic message on Booking or a text what to do when I arrive- instead of navigating all that on the spot.

2 nights no sleep. 7 hour drive , over $600.

Noisy room, outside patio chatter late at night. Early morning staff 7 am banging talking Preparing breakfast. We just did not get any sleep. Lovely room and amenities, location was very bad. No way to escape the noise.

A place I would love to return to

I knew I made the right choice from the first moment I made the reservation. The communication with Nicole was extremely good and personalized. The location is very good, being close to all the shops and restaurants in the area. The room is very stylish and technologically advanced. Maybe for some people these new things are not appreciated, only that we, being the first time in this place, found them very practical. Extremely easy self check-in, very kind staff, a place I would love to return to.

Avoid late reservation...

Location and premises are, on the whole, pleasant.

There was no one to greet us when we arrived and the whole building was closed and inaccessible. We had to look for a phone number to call, leave messages on answering machines and wait for what seemed like a long time until we got called back. The « customer relations director » finally showed up. She greeted us with great folksiness and no apology, as if nothing was wrong and the situation was perfectly normal. I can readily admit that the initial cause for this situation was due to (very) late reservation. Our displeasure could probably have been largely assuaged with an appropriate response and a mere apology. For the same reason (late reservation and arrival) the room had not been heated in advance and remained chilly for a long time.

A Calistoga Hidden Gem

Great location in town. Peaceful, quaint and walking distance to shops /restaurants. Nice outdoor seating with fire-pit. Room was excellent, clean, bed comfortable, white linnen, heated bathroom, overall perfect. Nicole was very responsive with the check-in process, most helpful and provided valued general information. Parking easy and free.

Not a great experience, though they did try hard

The staff is really nice. They even left a bottle of sparkling wine waiting for us in the room for our anniversary. they have bikes for guests to borrow and stroll around, and service is outstanding. The room amenities are also top notch. All in all this had everything to be a superb place.

The biggest problem is the lack of a common room or a heated area where guests could spend time. The rooms are tiny and there’s no seating space - it only fits the bed. This wouldn’t be a problem if there was a common room where guests could sit down, read a book and spend some time. but in this property they lack that. the cafe closes at 4pm, and so does the reception. All the staff leaves and turn off all the patio heaters. So if you get to the hotel after dinner at 8:30 the only thing you can do is to go to bed early. And hope you can sleep 11 hours in a row, because the cafe is only open at 8am next day. I imagine this wouldn’t be a problem with warm weather, as one can spend time in the patio, but during winter it just doesn’t work. Also - and possibly as a consequence of forcing guests to spend too long in bed - the mattress was all bumpy and uncomfortable. Two days in that place and I was dreading having to go back to that room.

Exceptional

I loved everything, from the staff going above and beyond. Nichole S who I was speaking too was so great, she formed me about everything I needed to know. My room I stayed in was #6 and I gotta say it was beautiful. I had made a special request to lay out on the bed to spell out "I love you" with rose peddles & and it was the best surprise for my partner, she cried because it was so beautiful and thoughtful. It was such a great experience & I can't wait for my future stay there.

The only thing I didn't like was the weather. It was raining and very cold. There is nothing I would complain about at my stay here. I had a great experience.
