Suite Dreams Hotel

Not many other guests so we almost had the place to ourselves. Free breakfast. Very quiet: barely heard July 4 fireworks. Plenty of activities: indoor pickelball court, corn hole, table tennis, basketball hoop, gym. Very large and comfy beds.

Listing states in several places that there is a restaurant. But it closed a month or two back, leaving only the free breakfast (very limited: waffles, 2 cereals, toaster but no bread, and bowl of fruit with old withered apples. Hot water for tea was always tepid at best) and a bar which has snacks if you buy a drink. While there are 2 Mexican places, a steakhouse and a Dunking donuts nearby, these were all closed on 4 July necessitating a much longer walk to find food, and the owner was less than helpful (she didn't even know the adjacent Mexican was closed). There used to be an indoor pool, but this was bricked up a month or two back also. First room we were offered still had the last occupant's sheets on the bed and a bottle of Drano on the vanity. The second room was larger (thank you!), but no outdoor window, only one facing the enclosed/roofed courtyard and which is too big to cool in the early-July heatwave, so we had no fresh air or natural light. A pity there are no doors that could open to let in fresh cool air to the former enclosed pool area, especially as there is a nice private grassy area just beyond. Best rooms would be downstairs facing the exterior grass, or upstairs facing north. Westward facing rooms whether upstairs or down will be very hot in summer with the afternoon sun. A long walk (2km) from the city centre/train station, and even further to rental cars. Breakfast bar uses disposable plastic and polystyrene cutlery/plates/cups, which is always frustrating to find. No recycling/trash/compost separation in the rooms or the breakfast bar. Be aware the hotel takes in homeless people. They were no problem (and would have a nice comfy room), but it's a bit disconcerting to find a policeman and a homeless person behind you awaiting check-in at night.

Very convenient, great value and super friendly. We loved the pet friendly option at no additional cost!

It doesn’t appear they do a thorough cleaning often as the bulbs in the lamps were dusty and the dispenser in the shower seemed dirty. The breakfast area was a bit too warm.
