Ranger Inn & Suites

My wife and I stayed here last week and it wasn't bad considering the cost and location. Let me start off by saying that my wife and I travel a lot and have had some rather poor experiences with hotels that appear to be fantastic online. Needless to say we both had rather low expectations. We arrived to find a couple of outdated vending machines that were replaced 3 days later, an incredibly easy check-in process, and surprisingly immaculate restrooms in the guest area (which is a really good sign, from our experience). We made our way to the room in the blistering Texas sun and discovered a pre-cooled room that smelled of smoke and dust, but was very clean. The furniture was as little scuffed up, a nightstand was missing a handle, but still looked sort of new. The overall impression I got was that this was an old room that used to be smoked in ages ago, but was now being diligently cleaned daily. The restrooms were very basic and sort of small. There is limited parking, but it seems to be sufficient for the number of rooms there. Having said all of that the real reasons you stay here are the price and the location. Staying here, you are directly across form six flags, and my wife and I enjoyed seeing the Texas Giant run and hearing the screams as the ride plunged down its hills from the parking lot. The park entrance is a mere 5-10 minute walk and there is a Denny's 2-3 mins by car; sushi, seafood, American, and some other restaurants within a 5-10 minute drive. Overall, this is a great budget stay; this place punches well above its weight class due to the cleanliness, location, and price but it is still a motel.

Price, location, comfort! We are pleased! Book it!!

We had friends stay at La Quinta next door and paid twice the amount of money and didn’t even have their room cleaned daily! We walked into fresh towels and sheets every evening!

Good value, could have been cleaner, but the traffic horns from transport trucks in the morning was not a great way to wake up.
