Super 8 by Wyndham Terre Haute

The lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Bed was ok and air was cold.

Bugs in the room. Wasnt as clean as I like. COLD SHOWERS! Water never got hot.

Worst place ever. Our socks were so dirty walking around in the room. So we decided to wipe the floor with a hand towel. There is no way anyone has mopped the room in years. No maid service. Our second morning we called for towels (bc no maid cleaned or brought us fresh towels). They say WE DONT HAVE ANY! Bugs in the room. Mold on the lamp shade.

Super 8 should shut the place down. Terra Haute should condemn it.

I didn't like that I had to put down a deposited of $70.00 on the room for thief protection, we they had a credit card on file. When we entered the hotel from the backdoor, it was trash on the floor when we walked in. The backdoor where we entered was not lock and any outsider could have walked in.

I’ll start by saying the staff was friendly. But they can only control what’s in their realm. I felt safe but only because the doors require a keycard. Also the air conditioner worked fantastic, and the water ran from the faucets and our lightbulbs weren’t burnt out. Oh and also the beds and sheets were clean. So thanks I guess

There was an Astro van parked in the lot with its doors open, and he seemed quite comfortable and unbothered by living out of his van in a parking lot, also the disgusting smell of cigarettes throughout the building, including where we checked in at. Due to the permanent residents smoking out their windows in plain view of everyfrigginbody. Then there was the keycard not working, which is not a problem but I’m piling it on this crappy place. So then we get in the room, stale smell and dated EVERYthing in the building. It was late so my daughter and I went to settle in and take turns showering. Lowe and behold, the showerhead wouldn’t activate, only the shower nozzle for the tub worked. And before we figured that out…wow look there’s no door catch for the bathroom door. No not the wall frame metal plate, the physical moving mechanism that latches against the striker plate. Then in frustration I look up to my lord for a prayer of strength…and all I see if absolute garbage drywall patchwork, stains from water leaks, and just in general a terribly bad esthetic due to ineffective maintenance and a general lack of caring from the contractor/maintenance/child picked up from the drug ridden streets and kidnapped for cheap labor from the town over. Oh did I mention the smell of cigarettes from the only humans paying enough money to keep this trash hole in business….yeah there’s that. So after much yelling and drug fueled babbles during the night, and looking outside to make sure our vehicles still had alloy wheels attached instead of cinder blocks, I feel asleep. Then after getting packed and closing the room door, walking in the stale cigarette smoke filled hallway, I looked down to the floor and oh wow look kiddo!!!!they allow pets…because not a lack of, not even just one…two dead cockroaches. And honestly I understand how the most durable insect in the universe wouldn’t be able to..oh not only not thrive in this environment, they can’t even keep themselves...

Charged deposit twice only received 1 of the charges back. Speaking to bank regarding fraudulent charges and practices. Rooms were musty and dirty. Loud and noisy unable to sleep. Front desk did nothing. Biggest waste of money. Also had 50 taken off card that was not authorized. Horrible experience

Bad breakfast choices

Easy access to the laundry facilities a a wonderful a manager. The breakfast was awesome!

The paint in the shower was peeling off, the shower head gooseneck was loose and felt like it was loose.

Location to the highway and food

It seemed to be under construction so the parking lot was a little messy. They also left the side entrance door propped open all day and into the night which I felt was a safety issue.

I was coming back home from Myrtle Beach and decided to get a hotel. Super 8 had "good" reviews and was within budget, so I booked it. Upon arriving the man was friendly. However, once I got into the back of the building where the stairway is, there was an instant smell. It was dirty, you could see stains, but it was 2am and I had been on the road since 8:30am. So, I thought I would just go to my room and sleep for the night, it was only for a couple hours anyways. Walking through the hallway you could see trimming coming off and the smell was just, well gross. I entered the room and immediately checked for bedbugs and roaches, there were none. The furniture was all scratched up and old. Even the bathroom door. I sprayed my perfume on the bedding and pillows just so I could sleep, because at this point I was so exhausted I didn't have much energy to even deal with with all let alone drive more. In the morning as we were leaving I saw what appears to be blood stains on the walls and then once in the halls we just this unsettling vibe from the 2 men that we encountered. Normally I don't get nervous or scared easily, I can handle my own, but this hotel and the men just made me want to LEAVE! Once out the door and in the car, we pull around to checkout, the lady doesn't say anything, just takes my key. Then I go outside and one of the men is by my car. I immediately get in and sped off. This hotel is NOT worth the money, doesn't feel safe, and is NOT even what it claims to be. We will NEVER stay here, I'd rather sleep in my car!!

Location

Filthy. A broken toilet was sitting in the parking lot. Garbage piled along side the building and in the halls. Exit blocked by bedding and bed frame. Halls reeked with marijuana smoke. Nauseating.

The Super 8 in Terre Haute is conveniently located and reasonably priced. It is close to the Interstate, but I did not hear any traffic noise. It is also a short drive to many different restaurants and Indiana State University. The room and bathroom were cleaner than what one finds in other motels. The property has ample lighted parking nearby.

The bed was firm and not very comfortable in my opinion. The square-shaped pillows were fine, but I prefer regular size ones. I did not get a good night's sleep. I may have overlooked this detail, but I was surprised by the $50 deposit paid on top of the room bill. But as promised, it was refunded to me a few days later.

there was mold in the shower and the refrigerator. the molding on the wall was falling off there was spots of something all over the bedspread. I have pictures of all of it.
