    We were surprised at check in that we were booked into a suite instead of the standard roon we requested. The room was clean, spacious and well decorated. The bed was comfy. However, we had one major issue and a couple of minor ones. The major issue was a loud mechanical sound that occurred all night long. We had a long drive behind us and a long drive ahead of us and needed a good night's sleep, but that did not occur. Looking back it would have been wise of us to request another room. However we had already carried in all of our luggage once and really were not up to doing that all again. There were a few upkeep situations that we did mention to the front desk so hopefully those will be taken care of. The evening receptionist was not the most friendly and I had to go back to get wifi and breakfast information. Part of that might have been due to my confusion regarding a ground floor suite opposed to a top floor room, but either way there were no apologies for my inconvenience. We also called the front desk and there was no answer before I walked over. The place overall was great and the breakfast was exceptional. Just a couple fixes will make it all amazing.

    A total disaster and complete lack of maintenance—Do not stay here!Rating: 1/5 ⭐I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with my recent experience at The Hotel Saratoga, an Ascend Hotel Collection member. This establishment completely failed to honor our booking and provided an unacceptable standard of accommodation.We explicitly booked a spacious 44 m² room, but upon arrival, we were shoved into a tiny room of only about 20 m². After I went back to the front desk to lodge a formal complaint about this massive downgrade, we were upgraded to a suite. However, the new room was a safety hazard and a nightmare:Severe structural neglect: Pieces of plaster were literally falling from the ceiling.Awful smell: The entire room had a strong, sickening odor of mold and mildew.Broken amenities: The shower mixer valve was completely broken, making it unusable.Zero basic supplies: There wasn't a single glass or piece of tableware available in the room.To make matters worse, this is clearly a systemic issue for this hotel. While I was standing in line, the customer right behind me was also demanding to change rooms due to problems with their accommodation. The property is riddled with far too many maintenance and quality control problems.The absolute only saving grace of our stay was the young woman working at the front desk. She was professional, empathetic, and genuinely tried her best to satisfy us and fix the situation. Unfortunately, her great customer service cannot compensate for a decaying, poorly managed property.I strongly advise travelers to avoid this hotel until management decides to invest in basic maintenance and respect their guests' bookings.

    This place is in a good spot if you have a car. We didn’t expect much from the room rate we paid but then we found out after check-in that it included breakfast and the hotel has a swimming pool and a gym. Wow!! Breakfast was pretty good and the breakfast lady was very friendly and helpful. One of the best breakfast we haven’t had from any other hotels for a big while. The room itself was okay. Our shower room had a leak from the floor so water kept coming out whenever we showered even we closed the glass door. The hotel door and walls were thin. We could hear the activities outside even our door was closed. But it did not bother us because we spent most of the time outside of the hotel anyway. We enjoyed breakfast, good bed, and the pool.

    The location is very good. Right next to the State Park, and a five minute drive to downtown Staff is friendly and very responsive I did not care for the hotel as a whole Kind of run down. The door closest to my room would only open from the outside using the Key card. If you were inside you could not use that door to exit which was quite inconvenient, and probably illegal from a fire safety aspect The bathroom had no vanity so my wife had to keep her toiletries on the desk and walk back and forth to get ready It was cheaper than the hotels in town, but I don't think I would stay there again
