My daughter was satisfied
3.0 / 10.0
Love that it is literally in downtown. Yall can keep the rats. I was scared to even walk in the main door it get into my room without a rat running passed my feet. I couldn't control the heat so I was cold all night. Walls were thin and all I heard was someone having sex all night.. I would never go back. My guest had to pay for parking. Yeah I would never stay here again and you shouldn't either
Didnt like nothing

Staff and location
Room did not have warm and hot water. The people in the room above made significant noise preventing a reasonable night of sleep.

Loved how clean it was.
Would have been nice to control the temperature but I’m happy it was warm as opposed to cold.

It was very clean. The staff were very nice and helpful.
Nothing they can fix, but it is noisy outside. The other guests can’t be heard but a lot of clanging outside. It was very windy that night though.

Simple, clean setup in a good location in river north. Very close to lots of sights. 5-10 minute walk to L depending on the line. Cute old school motel in the middle of the city, feels like a time capsule.

The amenities were basic but clean and in good working order. The staff was friendly and helpful. The little deli that shared the hotel office space was delicious!
The parking spaces are very narrow and the parking lot is a little tricky to navigate.

Very good location. Lots of great bars and restaurants nearby and a convenient Target to get necessities. Room was nicely, renovated, and very clean.
You can’t control the temperature of your room. It got a little warm and had to open up a window.

Excellent location, comfortable and clean rooms, great staff.
Noise from traffic late at night. Nothing the property can do about this obviously, it’s just a really busy part of the city.

Very out dated on basics. Like AC.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. The property in general seemed well-maintained. The staff was friendly.
The only issue with the room was that it was very hot, and it was not possible to access the thermostat. It appeared several rooms shared a single thermostat. However, it was possible to cool the room down by opening the window. Also, while we appreciated being able to leave our bags at the desk/office for several hours after checking out, when we initially arrived to pick up our bags the office was locked an no one was present, with a sign saying they were helping a guest and would be back in around 30 minutes. While it’s understandable that unanticipated situations may arise, this was a bit stressful because we had little extra time before we needed to be at the train station to leave town. However, things ended up working out.

Great location, I stayed here for 4 nights alone and I felt safe walking at night when I was coming back from the subway

The location was perfect. Walkable distance to almost every sight downtown.
We were staying in one of the rooms in the same building as the reception. In our 3-night stay, there was a time where the receptionist was gone, the front door was locked and we couldn’t get into our room. We mentioned it later and nothing happened. They said it sometimes happens. No discount, no apology. Also, our room had shared A/C with the reception which was very inconvenient. We were cold during our whole stay. Only the staff of the hotel were able to mess with the A/C controller. Which of course was not mentioned anywhere.

The place was absolutely beautiful, nice and clean and great location.
Room wasn't ready at 4, had to wait 30 mins for it to get cleaned.

Very clean and great proximity to everything downtown. Grand central station is only a few blocks away and the beach is within walking distance as well. Overall this was a great place to stay.
The traffic is a little overwhelming and noisy. Granted, we are in downtown Chicago so take that as you will. Better windows with more insulation might help.

The location was absolutely perfect. I felt like it was in the middle of everything and I was able to walk everywhere I wanted to go. Especially to food spots. Never had to walk more than 5 mins for food. Especially if it’s your first time in Chicago and wanna try the specific Chicago foods (Italian beef, pizza, hot dogs).
The room was sooooooo clean. The room was awesome. The bed was comfortable.
The bathroom had the best mirror. It was absolutely perfect for selfies.
I couldn’t find a thermostat so my room was just cold the entire time. Which isn’t entirely a problem because after all the walking and sweating I did, the cool air was nice.
When booking it said my room would have a view. The view was an alley lol. Not terrible but it wasn’t what I expected and it actually made me laugh.
There were guests screaming and talking at 5am and as soon as I called the front desk, someone was there to solve the problem immediately. It was quiet then. So not so much a property issue but a guests issue.

I like that even if though it is technically a motel it did not feel like one, the beds were comfortable it was clean and it had a nice bathroom and it was not loud like some of the reviews mentioned.
I didn’t necessarily dislike this since I didn’t NEED room service at any point but I guess it’d be nice if they brought towels sheets etc directly to your room instead of having to go to their front desk.

Location. Decent shower.
Off the alley. Had to keep blinds down for privacy. Bathroom could uae a good cleaning. Make pens and paper available. Awakened at 6am by garbage pickup. That was the nail in the coffin.

The accommodation was well appointed for a short stay, and the staff were wonderful. Whenever there were any questions, they were very happy to reply in a very short turnaround time. The motel itself is very convenient with located, and for those who have cars there is parking. We found it easy to walk to many locations, including public transit. It was a great day! Thanks to Hector and all the other wonderful staff that helped us on our stay!
Not necessarily a dislike, but we found the air-conditioning a bit too cool. But the staff were very happy to accommodate us and adjust the settings. All in all, some people may prefer the cooler settings.

Nice motel for a good price, 20 min walk to most attractions, close to shops and restaurants. All you need for a quick sightseeing trip of Chicago.
By a busy steeet so quite loud but that is to be expected downtown Chicago.

Location was ok, and the place is clean
Parking was charged at $49 per night, when booking it was $29. It’s a rip off, thought the Motel was very basic but it was very clean. Not worth the nightly rate for what it is, it’s overpriced.

The website online says free parking. I was charged 40 plus tax to park overnight. The reason I chose this location was that the value included parking. The next time I will figure that cost into the accommodation when comparing and making a choice.

They have surface parking outside the motel rooms. It is fenced in that is closed at night.
The room was clean and spacious. The staff were very helpful and
Didn't have control of the AC / heat for individual room
