Good for a motel 6

Very clean. I've had bad experiences with motel 6 being absolutely disgusting, but we needed a cheap place just to sleep for the night on a road trip. I was pleasantly surprised. I mean, the bar was set incredibly low, so take my positive review with a grain of salt. I like the updated interior. It didn't smell like 20 years of indoor smoking. The bed was kinda comfortable. The pillows were way too flat, but that seems to be true at every place I've stayed the past couple of years. It easy to get to, and it was quick to check in and out. The staff were shockingly polite in spite of their awful jobs, so kudos to them. I woke up early so I was able to get us hot coffee from the lobby. They had soap in the shower this time (still no shampoo, idk why they can't be bothered to buy shampoo). The tap water was too chlorinated to drink (luckily we still had some bottled water for our dog, because she wouldn't go near it, and she's not normally picky) but that means it was sterile so I felt safe getting clean. There was a small desk/TV stand to work from, which I didn't need that night, but it's good to know if you do need it. There was a little bit of grass and dirt by the parking lot to walk the dog, though not much. They had a laundry room, which we didn't need, but also nice to know the option exists. Overall if I needed to spend the night in Amarillo again, id give it a 10/10 with low expectations and a "get what you pay for" mindset. If it had been more than $50 I would've gone somewhere else, or maybe just slept in the car.

Flat pillows, undrinkable water, no shampoo, no breakfast (but Bucky's is two exits away, so maybe just pay 2.50 for an egg taco), the coffee ran out fast, no carpet on the floor for the dog (she slept in the bed with us, but she usually prefers the floor - big bed though), but nothing that would be a big deal at that price point unless I planned to stay more than one night.

Traffic on the highway was loud at times during the night. Woke up to gunshots going off and a vehicle speeding away. Other than that, it was ok. My granddaughters were disappointed that the pool was no more when the website said the motel had a pool. Glenn

Don't stay here

I LIKED THE LOCATION

The pool was out of service for 4 years, yet it's still on their ad. I saw cockroaches in the room. I hated that their ad said you could pay online, so I did, but then when I got there, they said they didn't take online payments and charged me AGAIN. THEN I HAD TO FIGHT TO GET MY ONLINE PAYMENT BACK.

Close to a dog park, great check in

The check-in was exceptionally easy!! I always notify hotels ahead of time I'm going to be traveling with the service dog, and they gave me no grief. The room was simple, and got me back on the freeway to head to Missouri very close

It was a very short trip, literally checking in / sleeping / driving away. Because they made check in so easy, even before their check-in time, I was able to hit a few thrift stores and find some treasures. I am traveling through five states alone with a service dog. I was also able to find a park nearby that the dog could enjoy. Would I stay here again for a quick stay .....YES

Glad to find a clean,safe and affordable room for just one night on our trip.

Close to interstate for easy/off when leaving the next morning. Also price was very reasonable and room was clean. Liked not having carpet but the easy to clean flooring. Nice working TV.

That the pool (according to ad online there was a pool) was empty except for some green sludge at the very bottom 😳🤢🤢. Window curtains let too much light in the room for sleeping.

It was easy to get to and we had a quick check in.the bathroom was huge.

The bed was very uncomfortable. The sheets all had burn holes in them I assume from someone smoking. Didn’t feel clean. We also tried to get more pillows because they only gave us 3. They said they didn’t have any. The pillows were small. It just didn’t feel good overall.

We had two rooms. The first room, the a/c -heat, didn't work In the second room, the toilet wouldn't work, so the people in that room had to go to the first room to use the bathroom. Not to mention the awful sound that could be heard in the first room when the room above took a shower at 3am it woke us up. Beds are only full-size even though it advertised as queen beds.

Traveled from Wyoming with our 3 kids ages 7-14. I booked this property for the price as well as the pool. For being sold out the entire week we stayed, it was pretty quiet.

My kids had never been to Texas before and I wanted to make sure the pool was opened so they had something to do during our down time. I emailed 3 days prior to our trip (one day before we could have cancelled) asking if the pool was open and never received a response. We showed up to find the Pool was closed, and unfortunately it was too late to cancel the reservation, especially after traveling for 12 hours. The sheets were very stained and one of the beds’ sheets hadn’t been changed. There was a pair of underwear toward the foot of the bed where the blankets had been tucked in in the other bed. We did not notice this until our last day 🤢. There was no bathroom fan which made for a very humid room.

I didn’t feel safe, it was a loud location and I was only able to sleep 2 1/2 hours

It is a motel which makes you feel unsafe because of the people there. First clue was that the receptionist was behind a plexiglass window and the lobby was closed off. There was a monitor on the wall of several security cameras. Which either meant they cared about our safety or it was a dangerous location and they needed to care about our safety! It was a very loud location at an intersection of interstate 40. I heard exhaust from loud motorcycles and cars all night long. You could hear people arriving at the motel all night long. People were walking around all hours of the night, including in the room above me. I only slept 2 1/2 hours the entire night. It was so loud

We really enjoyed our stay

We enjoyed the room and board and how warm the shower got. We appreciate the clean smell of the room and the accessibility. I have a broken foot so the ADA room we we’re given worked very well for us!

The towels could have been bigger, we didn’t have a towel supplied in our room the was big enough to wrap around our bodies, additionally our rooms bathroom didn’t have a lock, or a working air vent to displace the steam of the bathroom. There also was a decent about of misc hair that wasn’t removed from our room before we entered. We are not picky people and I personally grabbed a tissue and threw it away however I understand some people may find hair that is not their unpleasant.

The room was really clean.

The bed was uncomfortable and it was really loud because it the interstate was so close. Also the first room they gave me smelled gross but the front desk agent was super friendly and put me in another room that didn't smell.
