It was cozy nothing spectacular.
Not enough conveniences available at the motel needed some shelves to store clothes.

If you want a no frills private room with nice paint color and recently update flooring/shower tiles, close to the beach this is the place. For the location, price can’t be beat.
Only half a fabric shower curtain which created a falling hazard,1 bathroom light and one exhaust fan didn’t work, mold in corner. Y bathroom sink all up the caulking on the wall, very hot room, Remote buttons worn off and nearly unrecognizable to control air conditioner, air conditioner in Celsius so I had to look up the conversion, outside lights so bright it lit up my room even with the shutters closed and fowls onto of the shutters, fridge squeeked when turning off so I unplugged it, front desk person doesn’t speak enough english to get through the check in process, door had special molestation handshake thing to get in that only the one gentleman could do to let me in after I tried 13 swipes with the key on two different occasions, one dresser drawer handle completely missing, they only accepted cash for the pet deposit that wasn’t stated as required prior to booking, I gave them $30/40 dollars in cash but when I came back to pay the rest they only gave me back $25 instead of $30; essentially they stole $5 from me and collected $45).

Nothing special about this place really. Because Pismo Beach itself is a very small city and you can have better options to stay.
Not suitable for a peaceful stay
We checked in a little late at night. There was an elderly lady at the reception who treated us very well; she was polite, patient, and welcoming. Since she was not the main staff, she had to call another lady for assistance. Unfortunately, the lady on the phone was very unwelcoming. There was no greeting, and her tone felt unfriendly and dismissive.
That said, the elderly couple working there were genuinely helpful and friendly, and we appreciated their efforts.
The room itself looked okay, but cleanliness could have been much better. The shower pressure was extremely high, to the point where the water was actually hurting us, which was very uncomfortable.
We stayed for only one night, but I did not sleep at all due to constant noise. People were talking and chatting very loudly outside late into the night. While guest behavior can’t always be controlled, the room should at least be properly insulated. We could hear people walking and talking in the corridor and parking area throughout the night. Since the motel is right on the roadside, there was also continuous traffic noise.
Additionally, check-in took a very long time, as opening the door itself took ages. It felt like the property relies on temporary workarounds instead of properly fixing ongoing issues.
Overall, this place is not recommended if you’re looking for a quiet or peaceful stay.

It was exactly what we were looking for, for our family trip. We just wanted to be comfortable with 2 adults and 2 kids and we definitely were. It was peaceful and quiet. I loved the vanity lights. Pillows were great. Hubby and I agreed we would definitely come back for a quick weekend away again.
There wasn’t much at all, but If I absolutely had to complain I’d say no bathtub is a bummer because we were traveling with little children.
Also, I wish there was some sort of shelving up and out of reach from little one’s hands because we were stacking a lot of stuff on top of the microwave that didn’t have a lot of surface space. Keys, key card, wallet, hubs smokes, our open drinks etc.

Easy to find
Very dirty, old and poorly kept. Front desk was very rude and yelled at me thinking I did not hear her. There is no insulation between walls, I could hear EVERYTHING the guests were saying in the next room. Like, the whole conversation. They kept me awake until late and I slept very poorly. Bed is uncomfortable and weird, pillow cases had hair on them. There was no hairdryer in my room, just a very dangerous exposed sharp hardware where I assume there used to be one. Floor was black and dust everywhere, stains and hair that was not mine. Would not recommend.

Location and price were good
The wifi did not work in the rooms, and the cell service was not great either... he said he was going to reset it, but it never did work, and I didn't want to keep pestering them as it seemed they were not going to fix it. The woman at check-in did not speak English and had to call someone on the phone, and then handed me the phone to take care of everything... then she just handed me the key... she seemed friendly, but we didn't really talk...

Shell Beach is a great location -we met several locals and they were all very friendly. The attractive shoreline is a short walk away and there are a handful of decent places to eat and drink within a 10 minute stroll.
We didn't have especially high expectations as this was at the 'value' end of the spectrum but it was overall 'fair'.
The lady on reception was at a disadvantage because she couldn't speak any English - she had to call one of her family for us to speak to. Some of the electric appliances (including the microwave and hairdryer) in the accommodation were too close to the basin and bath for safety and one of the outdoor fire extinguishers seemed to be out of date

Mini split AC unit in the room kept the room nice and comfortable. The room came equipped with a 50” LG smart TV for streaming shows/movies. Bed is comfortable for the price, I am 6’2 300 pounds and slept comfortably.
There’s a nice patio area with a propane fireplace and comfortable outdoor furniture. Property is walking distance to the Ocean Park. Another added bonus for this property is the laundry machines on site.

I liked how quiet and private the rooms were. Parking was open but safe and convenient. The outdoor seating area was furnished and enjoyed on our stay.
The room did not get freezing cold, however the large windows helped air out the room plenty.

The beds really comfy, the shower is big , really nice .
The neighbors kept banging on the walls on purpose. The front door frame looked like its been kicked in lol.

Close to the festivities for July 4th. We were able to park at a nearby hotel where family was staying and drive back here with no traffic at all.
Older property, the bed was very uncomfortable. My back was stiff and sore in the morning. The sink and toilet were very close together, in a weird way where it was awkward to use. Plumbing was off, the water from the sink was sitting in a clear pipe beneath the sink indicating that it wasn’t draining.

The location is perfect, away from the crowds but a short walk down to the oceans cliff where you can find numerous benches to enjoy the view of the pacific. The owners are kind and helpful, the place is super clean and quite. Coffee house next door is amazing, yummy treats and fabulous coffee
A fabulous, clean and safe place to lay your head but if you need entertainment or kids need to run around, it's a tiny establishment. For me, not a negative but for some it might be.

There was nothing to like. We spent +$350 for 3 hours sweating in hot box hotel room with insufficient air conditioning, to accept an *offered* refund that management later refused to pay.
This is the first time I've written a negative review, however I feel that the management's complete lack of integrity merits this summary for others to consider before booking. The air conditioning had no cooling effect on the room despite 3 hours of effort. At 9pm, still sweating in the hot and stuffy room, we asked to be moved to a room with working AC. Instead, we were offered - and accepted - a refund so we could stay elsewhere. We packed up the car and kids and were told the hotel could not process the refund at that time, as it had “to be processed thru Booking.com”. In fact, the unscrupulous manager had no intention of refunding our money. Booking.com contacted the hotel to initiate the refund and the hotel refused to make the refund. So, we spent +$350 for 3 hours sweating in a hot box hotel room trying unsuccessfully to get the air conditioning to work. Do yourself a favor, skip the Palomar Inn. Spend the extra $ to stay at a nice place on the beach where management has integrity, the air conditioning actually works, and customer service is priority.

Location and the couple that ran the office
We booked for Monday thru Thursday and needed at add Friday night which was almost the same price as I paid for 4 days. I thought that was too high of a price for one night.

Very dirty and broken down. Location was nice.
Broken down. Dirty. Stinky towels. My youngest son asked for Fresh towels and got yelled at my the Indian lady. Got told that if we weren’t happy that we can leave but won’t get our money back.

Clean room
Location; no pool. Right next to 101. All you can hear is cars all night. They did not even have ice! No smoke detector. Run-down property. advertised as Pismo Beach with 1,450 away from beach. It is more in Shell Beach. There is no beach that close. I believe this is false advertising. I will never book through Booking again!
