Seaside Motel

I'm very chemical- & EMF-sensitive, so it's really tricky to find places to stay. I'd recommend Seaside Motel to those seeking safe, low-chemical environments. There weren't detectable fragrances or chemicals... though I'd let them know ahead of time so I'm not sure if they made specific accommodations to that. (In other words, let them know.) One reason I chose this location is it seems to be lower 5G and cell towers in the neighbourhood. My cabbies assured me it's a good neighbourhood and one can walk around without trouble. I requested a corner room with opening windows and got Rm 31 which faced away from the street and had windows in kitchen and bathroom, so fairly good circulation. Air was as clean as I think you are likely to get in this kind of city. Kitchen & bath were tiled. This room, unlike others as I understand it, had a full kitchen including full size fridge... though you'd need to bring all supplies because nothing is there, not even a cup. No coffee/tea appliance in the room but was available (with disposable cups) in the office. The bed was comfortable, I love having a desk AND a kitchen table, and it was quiet. I liked that they provide a warm blanket which a lot of places in LA don't seem to do. Full bath and shower. Comes with good iron & board, suitcase stand, and a single hanger. I needed help getting luggage up the stairs and the guy at the desk was friendly and eager to help. They were very kind and helpful — for instance, making sure the windows were open for the room to air out before I arrived. (A lot of places say they'll do that, but don't.) On the downside, there was no view but a glimpse of a palm tree out a little window. The room didn't smell good — i suspect the carpet is really old and not thoroughly deep cleaned (though with chemical sensitivities, you don't want a shampooed carpet). Air conditioner grill was dirty, and it blasts cold air right onto the bed (I cooled the room in the day when I was out, and at night opened the windows for fresh air, which worked well). Other than that it seemed very clean. One thing I need is a place to be able to sit in the sun outside and it didn't have that, but that may not matter to most. All in all, I'd highly recommend this as a budget-friendly accommodation with kind, pleasant people. I'm very grateful for their thoughtful service.

Everything good not bad everything good not bad

Overall a nice small motel. Has limited parking, not enough for all the rooms. The man running the front desk was not very friendly. Also, what was up with soaping down the upstairs walkway and leaving it soapy and slippery when guests are trying to check out!? This is very dangerous.
