Marriott's Newport Coast Villas

The staff was amazing, exceeded expectations. They were so informative, took their time to answer questions and show genuine interest in creating a great experience for their guest. Even the shuttle driver, we were waiting for a bell driver to take us back to our room from the salt pool and he noticed we were cold and waiting and before leaving for the day took us back to where we needed to go and shared shuttle scedhule for the next day and recommendations for the restaurant at the villas! Honestly can’t wait to come back

Location was amazing and the staff were great!.

They had only Parking for 1 car even though we paid $40 a day for both. The second car was a long was away. With little kids and groceries it was difficult to navigate.

As a whole it is a great experience. The property has great customer service, large two bedroom suites, and the rooms are clean.

When I reserved a room from another travel website, we got a room with a beautiful view. The two times we reserved a room from Booking.com, we were put in rooms with views of trash cans and construction debris. With a balcony being advertised, I prefer a better view.

The location and room size were the only positives; unfortunately, the rest of the experience was disappointing.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our stay. First, there is no valet or bell service. Guests are required to park across the street and carry their own luggage up and down ramps and across the road. This is extremely inconvenient, especially when staying on higher floors, and there is no assistance offered at all. Second, the room was not clean. It was dusty, and the pillows were visibly stained with makeup, which required us to request replacements. The old carpets and curtains give the room a worn, unpleasant feel rather than anything charming. Third, the service was poor and unprofessional. When checking in, I asked to show a photo of my passport on my phone, as my physical passport was in my luggage (which staff do not help transport). Despite the booking being fully paid and valid identification being shown, the staff member Danielle, refused to accommodate this request. I had just completed a long journey and was not even allowed to use the bathroom, which felt unnecessarily rigid and rude. Despite booking 3–4 months in advance and contacting the hotel multiple times via Booking.com and email to request a sea-view room for my sister’s birthday we received no response and were told at check-in that requests are handled on a first-come, first-served basis, with no effort made to accommodate the occasion. We were also told there was no room service, which led us to believe no one would enter the room. However, after a few days, we returned to find the room had been accessed and cleaned without prior notice. When we asked, we were informed that housekeeping depends on the “type of stay,” something that was never explained at check-in and felt confusing and inconsistent. Additional issues included: - No complimentary daily water - No slippers - No 24-hour service - Concierge services only starting at 9 a.m., making it impossible to weigh luggage before early flights

The staff are all outstanding, lovely people, this was a lovely resort and the people who were staying at the resort were lovely. When we come back to california we will definitely be staying here again. Love the market store on property as well. Big beautiful resort. Thank you new port coast villas !
