Holiday Inn Express Hickory - Hickory Mart by IHG

It was clean and comfortable

It was a little inconvenient to get to, but made it more quiet than the hotels beside the interstate

This was a perfectly fine hotel. The room wasn't huge, but it doesn't need to be. The bathroom was a little dated but it worked. The only issue I had was two double beds for me, my wife, and 3 kids but that's not the hotels problem. Breakfast was fine to get your day going - typical hotel breakfast and I didn't have to pay someone else for it. We're satisfied with our stay and we booked the room, so it's no fault of the hotel

The manager was great and so sweet. The hotel was great as we usually expect from a holiday inn express.

The other lady who was there when we got there was pretty awful about everything and acted like we were such a bother. The manger though apologized and was super sweet about it.

The breakfast was good; eggs, bacon or sausage, instant oatmeal, various breads and juices. The coffee machine is amazing. The best decaf coffee I ever had outside of my own home. The coffee beans are ground at the time you request a cup. The staff was friendly, respectful, and helpful to everyone I saw them interact with. Kudos to Deidra Gallashaw, Guest Service Manager, who had the side entrance cleaned as soon as I brought the need to her attention. My room was very comfortable and quiet. The bed was comfortable and the shower had plenty of hot water with good water pressure.

For a 2-star hotel, this was great. I didn't realize it was 2-stars when I booked it, so at first, I was disappointed but once I realized that, it was better than a 2-star imo Not quite a 3-star but way better than you average 2-star. The halls were dark and my room was dark (facing north) but otherwise, not much to complain about.
