Beautiful property with amazing views
It’s a beautiful property with amazing views of the bay. The hotel is very modern, with tons of amenities. The rooms are nicely decorated with a comfortable bed, robes, slippers and everything you would need honestly. I like the smell of the shower products and lotion in the bathroom. Also loved the water bottle refill station directly in my room. I’ve never seen that anywhere else. The closet even had a yoga mat and foam roller. They had daily activities you could sign up for, some with fees, others not. They have a good breakfast buffet with enough food options at $60 per person. Unless you eat a huge breakfast, probably not worth it. You could also order from the Neighbors cafe for something smaller and eat outside on the terrace in the morning. I liked having the options. They have a great pool by the beach with a bar and servers coming around taking orders. Staff can also help you find a chair and get you set up. Cabana rentals were $400/day or $200/day but it honestly rains on and off that a full day didn’t make sense. Also lots of kids at the pool so not very relaxing when you’re paying $1k a night. They have an adult pool but it’s not as big. Just a good of view and also has its own bar and waiters. There’s lots of restaurant options onsite but the one that stood out to me from the site was the terrace. You can make a reservation two weeks in advance. You’re limited to 90 minutes per reservation. I did this the first night I arrived. I booked a table on the terrace outside during sunset to get a good view and take pics. When I arrived I was sat at a table inside but on the edge of the doors leading out. I couldn’t see outside at all as there are planters blocking the view. Not a big deal, it’s still nice. But the bugs from the plants were a nuisance from the moment I sat down. (Bring bug spray!) I also didn’t get a menu and no waiter approached my table or brought me water in the 15 minutes I waited before leaving.
The walls were paper thin. I could hear the individuals in the room next to me. When they were talking, when they were doing adult things at night, and when they were packing their suitcases at 4 in the morning. I also had zero cell service and very spotty WiFi in my room which isn’t important on vacation but I did have to remote into work at some point so the connection was a problem. It may have just been the room I was in. I had service and WiFi throughout everywhere else on property absent my room. But that also made streaming shows at night difficult. Again, not the end of the world, you don’t vacay to watch tv but would have made working easier if it worked.

Stylish with unbeatable views of nature.
Views are spectacular and it’s an amazing experience having turtles swimming around us. The rooms are stylish and comfortable. Restaurant was great with friendly staff. Beach and pool are great.
We had trouble with our keys working across two rooms which they promised would work, but after about 6 visits back to reception to fix the keys we realised they had over promised. It’s a bit of a treck to get from the reception/restaurant area to the beach using multiple elevators so if you forget something from your room it’s a pain.

World class property and staff in a spectacular beach location.
Views are unmatched. Food is great (breakfast is good, dinner at either restaurant is excellent). Pool and beach sunning areas are well appointed. Excellent fitness center
At the price everything will be highly scrutinized. Some common areas/facilities could have been cleaner/had more upkeep (some beach loungers were stained, towels in gym were often scare/unavailable)

Best resort I have ever visited
We enjoyed the presentation and the assistance checking in and carrying our luggage to the room. We loved the vip treatment and the sense of security/safety of the property. Beautiful views, delicious food, amazing staff, high quality bath products, very clean rooms and we really appreciate the special details 1 Team gave us for our Anniversary.
We were expecting to enjoy the bon fire but I guess it’s not in use anymore.

Wonderful family vacation in the best location in the island,
Wonderful and inviting design, friendly team, the location is perfect! It’s very unique to be on the ocean with the view of the mountains. Lots of the best parts of the island are nearby. Great spa and gym, all the facilities are excellent in location and maintenance.
It’s clear that a lot of thought was put in the food, but the final result was not balanced, at least for our family taste. The food is very expensive and not fine tuned enough. We loved the sushi and the catch of the day!

While the hotel’s setting is beautiful and we had high hopes, the overall experience didn’t meet 5-star standards. The l
We were recommended 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay by a number of people and were genuinely excited for our stay. The hotel itself is undeniably beautiful and picturesque, but as a 5-star resort, it fell short in several key areas. We arrived at 3:30 PM (check-in is at 4 PM), and while they took our luggage and stroller to be delivered to the room (which we appreciated), we assumed we’d be heading up shortly after. Instead, the check-in process was underwhelming. The staff manager helping us seemed disinterested and told us we’d receive a text once the room was ready. We didn’t get access until 5 PM, an hour after the posted check-in time. With two young kids (5 and 1 years old), waiting around without our belongings after a long day of travel was stressful. Although the hotel offered $150 in credit for the delay, we would’ve much preferred simply getting into our room on time, something we’ve never had an issue with at other hotels, let alone a luxury hotel. The room itself was another letdown. We booked a “Pool View Terrace Two Queens” based on the photo shown on booking.com, which featured a large deck and two sun beds, ideal for lounging while keeping an eye on the kids. What we got was a much smaller deck with just a table and two chairs, hardly enough space to enjoy. From walking around the property, it seems only a few rooms match the photo shown. The rest, like ours, should be classified differently. It felt misleading and disappointing to receive something different from what was advertised. Dining was another challenge. While we were excited to try the restaurants, all dinner reservations were booked for the entire duration of our stay. As a family with small kids, we need some flexibility, and paying a fee for a reservation we might not be able to make wasn’t a good option. We attempted a walk-in on our first night, were told it’d be a 30 minute wait and that we’d get a text when a table was ready. That text never came, and we ended up eating at the bar.
