Tranquility Bay Resort

Agoda when you book your trip makes you feel all is included when you make reservation. Then when you check out you get hit with fees that they don't warn you about. It was a shock to me. Wiil go back to Tranquility resort, but will not use Agoda to make my booking.

Great location. Nice resort but for its rating of exceptional for the area and the cost, did not want to have to call maintenance due to fridge/icemaker not working properly on arrival AND problem with ants that needed addressing during the stay. Feel resort owes some money back for that. Also surprised by the added”DAILY RESORT FEE” of $55 + taxes charged that was not included in the Agodo Quote which I presumed would be the final total.

Had a great stay here, though only there for one night, I would definitely go back for a longer stay

I booked this stay through *** under a fully prepaid special offer. The *** invoice clearly showed all charges paid in advance, including a mandatory property fee listed as a “Surcharge.” At checkout, the hotel attempted to charge the resort fee again, itemized as nightly resort fees plus county and state taxes. I showed the front desk and manager the Agoda invoice proving the fee had already been paid, but they insisted I needed to pay it again. I refused to sign the folio due to the duplicate charges. Despite this, the charge was still processed to my credit card. When I attempted to document the duplicate bill and prepaid invoice on my phone, the manager escalated the situation, threatened to call the police, and demanded that I stop recording and delete the video. I complied to de-escalate, but the interaction was unnecessarily aggressive and stressful. The resort itself was fine, but the checkout experience and billing practices were extremely disappointing and put a negative end to our vacation. Travelers booking prepaid rates should be very careful and double-check charges at checkout.
