Castle At Makahuena At Poipu

Proximity to the ocean. Complex located at water’s edge. Adjacent to Makahuena Point, the Southern most point of Kauai. Ability to walk grounds and surrounding coastal areas for the view. Clean and well maintained. Unit contained open lanai on first floor. Two entrances and exits to the room. Proximity to the pool. One parking place per unit. Full kitchen. Bedroom separate from living room. Cross air breezes, unit had open windows and doors on both sides.

Furnishings were a little dated, but appropriate trade-off for last minute booking.

Location was beautiful - perched on a cliff in Poipu. The washer and dryer were a blessing. The extras were highly appreciated - beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, tennis racquets, golf clubs. We left our beach umbrella to complete the facilities :-)

The only thing that would make this unit better would be air conditioning. Having said that, we left the front door open and that created a delightful breeze. It's worth mentioning that the proximity to the swimming pool is both good and bad - very convenient for a swim and a relax, but can be very noisy with adults and children alike shouting and screaming.

Booking.com listed it as having AC only had ceiling fans needed to buy or borrow other fans to keep cool. Advertised 3rd bedroom is on third floor of condo making it the 4th floor of the building no bathroom up there would have to go down one floor to one of the bedrooms that have bathrooms in them or all the way down to first floor. Was promised a refund of one night as we wouldn’t have booked with no AC have not seen it as of yet
