Best Western Cocoa Beach - Port Canaveral

We stayed here the night before a SpaceX Falcon Heavy launch meaning it was much more expensive than the typical rate. I left the booking until the day before, so had to pay a hefty premium. Because of this I feel it wasn't worth it, however if typical rooms are sub £100 I'd say it's fair. It's a motel spread across several buildings. Check in was quick and easy. We mentioned about the launch and we're told we would be able to see if right from the beach next to the hotel. The room itself was adequate. The Aircon was very noisy, the mattresses very springy and the whole room had a damp/foisty smell. Besides that it was clean and huge. The shower was incredible. Breakfast was a simple typical U.S offering of waffles, pancakes, eggs and sausages. It was all delicious. Nothing posh, nothing extravagant, but exactly as expected. The lady in the breakfast restaurant was super friendly and excited to tell us about the launch and how the windows would be rattling. We headed to the beach to watch the launch. Thankfully it launched exactly as planned, and while you could see it go up, it didn't really make a sound due to how far we were away. I'm not sure how close we could have got at 07:25, but I was at least hoping for the ground to shake a bit. Nevertheless it was excellent to be there, at sunrise, on a packed beach watching a $4bn rocket go up. The boosters coming back to land did create a sonic boom which made everyone jump. After the launch we returned to the premises and used one of the pools which was just ideal and very quiet. There were also games to be played on the artificial grass which was a nice touch. All in all, the hotel was a solution to a problem that I left too late. I wouldn't stay here again as I'm not a fan of motels.

Washing/Drying machine was not working when we were there. Rooms are dated..

Other than being woken up by the laundry trolley on cobblestones sounding like war broke out at 6am... the place was decent

OK, I’ll start out with the only positives The staff is very nice and the breakfast is amazing Other than that It’s a $50 hotel room at Best Felt like I was living in the ghetto Constant and I mean constant noise from 9 AM to 2 PM Staff walking around with huge carts with plastic wheels on cobblestone sidewalks. You can’t hear yourself think when these things go by your room every 10 minutes. Additionally, if there’s a room above, you forget about it Sounded like people were clogging above me constantly walking back-and-forth It’s a big complex, which is average at best
