Very nice and relaxing!
Staff was friendly and helpful.
I did not like paying a parking fee.
Everything is very expensive, meals etc.
the resort needs to restore worn out places throughout the building
The pool area was excellent!

This was an OK stay. One night was plenty of time. I dont know if we would go back.
We loved the location and the time of year that it was. We also loved the outdoor hot tub.
The grounds were a little unclean (dog poop in the main yard). The spa was ok, but the massage itself was not great. It was also very pricey for a low grade massage. The locker rooms were also unclean with hair and pine needles all over. The restaurants had strange hours and limited food options. You have to order from a to go menu if you just want to grab a glass of wine, and then you get charged a delivery fee even though you have to go to the restaurant to pick it up.

The staff, area, grounds and the lodge was great, but the food at the restaurant and pricing were
Nice rooms, trails , workout facility, beautiful area, great lodge. Beds were comfortable and clean, and it was quiet for sleeping. Great staff.
Charging for parking, no breakfast items included, no tiny extras like cookies in the lobby or a complimentary glass of wine like other higher quality resorts. Just feel like they offer the minimum for the price. The food we ordered was not great. Not a great tap selection either. Seems like some easy things they could improve.

Short, sweet, quiet
Location was advantageous
Didn’t meet the hype. Restaurant was way overpriced for the food they delivered.

Restorative and gorgeous stay!
Location (gorgeous and relaxing, well located), style, staff, activities (forest bathing, spa, proximity to hikes).

Beautiful place to stay
This is my second time and I love the location as it’s gorgeous. It was raining this time so the views were not as prevalent. I love the big chunky wood and the warm cozy atmosphere. The bed was extremely comfortable. The spa was relaxing. The food in the Cascade room was excellent.
I didn’t love that when we got to the hotel. There was all kinds of activity happening in the lobby from people dressed up for a costume party to lots of high school kids in formal attire… it was very loud and chaotic. I loved the spa and sauna in the women’s locker room because it’s peaceful and secluded but the main pool and spas had lots of little kids that were loud and trying to get our attn. Thankfully, we love children, but we also were expecting a more relaxing experience in there. My massage was very average, but my husband’s was excellent. Our best friends had the same two ladies massage them and the wife said that was the softest massage she ever received and it didn’t even feel like she got anything done and her husband said his was excellent. We enjoyed the delicious food in the cascade room and our waiter was very charming and did a great job but he had so many tables to wait on that we did a lot of waiting for everything. Two of the desserts of the four that were offered were sold out by the time he made it to our table to ask if we wanted anything. I think they need to hire more staff in the restaurant. However, the scenery and the fact that we were with our closest friends was fine with us and we enjoyed everything that we ordered on the menu.

Disappointing. Loud wedding ruined any chance of quiet, restful stay.
Overall still a beautiful setting. River view still pretty. And restaurant did their best and delivered tasty meal. But overall the whole experience was undermined by the wedding festivities at the lodge that night.
We came to Skamania for a quiet overnight getaway like we've enjoyed multiple times here in past years. It's a beautiful setting and our experience has always been serene in the past. In this visit, though, we were sorely disappointed. The setting was still beautiful, but we wish we'd have known there was going to be a large wedding there. When we'd splurged for the river view, we wanted to see and hear the river, not a wedding. And it was immediately and painfully clear this wasn't a small or quiet event. As the ceremony gave way to the reception, any hope of a peaceful evening was smashed with the revelry and bass thumping til 10pm (only stopping then to technically check the box on quiet hours), and then we got to hear intoxicated guests carrying on and making a ton of noise into the wee hours of the morning. Truly the whole vibe and energy was way too much for this setting - it felt like a very weird (rather tasteless) and unfortunate mismatch, and the volume of it all completely dominated the space. So it was not at all restful or relaxing stay, in spite of the physical locale still being beautiful. We mentioned this at checkout and were told a manager would follow up with us, but this has not happened either. Very disappointing experience. Do better, please, Skamania Lodge. Either don't allow an event anywhere near that large or loud, or make them rent out the entire lodge so other guests are showing up expecting the kind of experience you advertise (and have delivered wonderfully in the past), only to find themselves awkwardly stuck in the middle of a rager instead.

Beautiful property with lots to do. Basic rooms.
Beautiful location. Lots of things to do. The room was clean.
We booked Friday and Saturday and spent more than twice as much. We drove there from Montana and got there early. I figured I’d just check and see if they had anything available for a decent price. They did! $150/night (Thurs). We had paid $800/2 nights (Fri/Sat). Crazy! The room was very basic. Nothing special. Not even a microwave. I was happy to pay $150 but $400 was ridiculous for the same room.

Spectacular scenery and views from the lobby are amazing!
Loved the spectacular views of the Columbia River Gorge!
Staff at the check inn/out were very friendly!
Seems very dated. Showers could use some upgrades.
Seemed busy with a wedding and work conferences. The lobby kept running out of coffee and 3 of the 4 mornings, I had to ask the kitchen staff if they could get more coffee and creamer.

While we enjoyed mini-golf, good food, and a lovely location, our expensive room was not clean.
The staff was kind and hard working and the location was stunning. The food was good.
Our room was not thoroughly cleaned. There was hair from previous guests in our bathroom, which we brought to the attention of staff, who assured us it would be cleaned. It was not. The entire room appeared to have needed a deep clean, with he’s y dust throughout the room. Furthermore, we reached out to the staff multiple times through email, and even now, over 14 hours later, have yet to hear back about our concerns.

The place is so peaceful :)
The view, room, spa, hot tub was amazing. We also loved the food. There are many things to fun.
Servers was awful. They was keeping forget the orders even though there was no many clients. If you need anything they are not gonna help you. I need a vase for my flower and I called them they just amused me. That is rude!

Nice little getaway, close to Portland
Lots for kids to do.
Pool was great
Needs more options for separate sleeping for kids/adults.
Making reservations for breakfast is wild. Waiting for breakfast because we didn’t make reservations is even more wild.
Website didn’t mention anything about a breakfast buffet option

Expensive
If you had a view it was fabulous. We were assigned a room that looked at a wall and a parking lot.
The extra $40 a night amenities fee and forest fee. Waitress charged us for entire group of 15 people because we reserved space for the group. Never were asked if that was our intent.

Gorgeous setting. Love, just sitting out in the Adirondack chairs.

Good location
Breakfast was ok. Very expensive. My wife and I realized the place is very busy. This is no fault of the Lodge

Great place, but a questionable staff who don't seem to understand 'Customer Service'.
We thought the place was nice and had a lot of nice amenities, including the location along the river and proximity to a small nearby town. Very peaceful and quaint, we enjoyed the lion's share of this trip.
On our first night at the resort they had the main group (larger) firepit going for guests to sit around and roast marshmallows. Many children were there and families too. There were two other firepits, both also using natural gas that were located about 120 feet away from the main firepit and near the large covered patio area. The first night these too were operation which was fantastic and much appreciated as these two were a little more mellow and sans children, so quieter and more relaxing to boot. The second night we went to take our s'mores fixin's down the two secondary fire pits and enjoy our sugary treats, but were sad to see the two smaller fire pits were not turned on. The main one was, but it was very crowded with many people including 5-8 children running around trying to get their marshmallow's over the fire. I went up the lodge where we were staying and a nice young man said that he would get someone to light the other two seondary fire pits for us shortly. I returned to my family and waited. After another 25 minutes, there was still no fire and I had not yet had a s'more! I went back to talk to the young man who said he would send someone to light the fire pits and as I was talking to him, a woman who was standing about 10 feet away talking to the other hotel employee at the other front desk next to where we were talking piped up. She said that she was the Manager of the facility and that since they did not have an employee to be down by the fire to monitor it and ensure safety, that they would not be turning it on tonight. I told here that last night this was not an issue, as it operated perfectly with no employee there to monitor it. She said that was a mistake and was 'sorry' but could not do it tonight. On top of her NOT solving a simply problem just as the previous night, she was a bit snotty and condescending in doing so. I did not appreciate it and we won't be returning anytime soon.

Great family base camp for hiking, biking, golfing and other activities in Colombia River Gorge!
Beautiful lodge in wonderful setting with lot’s of fun activities to enjoy
Food options and selection were typically average quality at high price. Locals frequently recommended better options within 15 minutes drive of the lodge.

Beautiful location and disappointing service
We liked the location and activities
We booked specifically to have a pet friendly room and filtered all rooms by this on Booking.com. On arrival we were told our room wasnt pet friendly and had to pay an additional fee of $160 or lose our room which given we had driven 4 hrs on July 4th was not an option. The premier room we booked was old, dated and despite requesting a service they never cleaned the room

It was the first night of our honeymoon and it was not what we would ever pay for again!!
Room was beautiful
Bed was u comfortable our hips and shoulders hurt after our stay. There were people drinking in the hot tub area and so many kids splashing in the hot tub it was hard to enjoy the hot tub area.
Dinner was awful they fort about us and we finally had to ask for a menu….then our food was cold ….after almost 2 1/2 hour for a pizza and a drink the manager finally brought us our bill and then walked away and we sat there for another 20 minutes before we just got up and paid the bill up front. Will not be back!!!!

Beautiful setting
Seemed a bit run down and the restaurant had a very limited menu. Who designed where to attach the toilet paper holder? So inconvenient.

Beautiful serenity along the Columbia River!
The setting is beautiful and the vibe serene. It's a place where you're left to yourself to unwind. It was great for adults and kids, and there are things to do together and independently. We only stayed one night and will definitely be back for more! It'd be a great couples option, too.
No complaints from my family.
