L’Auberge is perfection! From the friendly staff who greeted us to the breakfast servers and turn-down service, it was fabulous. Fresh flowers in the room, steamer and iron for our convenience, great bathrooms with all the extra products to make our stay enjoyable. Turn-down service nightly with fresh cookies delivered to our room. Welcome gifts in the room were so sweet. The breakfasts were delicious…especially the Early Riser. The courtyard is beautiful and such a relaxing place to sit and enjoy the weather. A quick walk to the ocean to see the sunset over the water. Close to all the best shopping and restaurants. Even a gift at the end of our stay. It doesn’t get better than L’Auberge!

Got a wonderful last minute deal through Agoda. The breakfast was included and can truly say it was wonderful. Room was nice and was the tiny bar. Unfortunately the place was lacking in facilities and really wouldn’t consider it up to Augerge standards given the rack rate. The price we paid through agoda was fair enough

It is a very nice old classic hotel , nice staff and a nice complimentary breakfast in the courtyard . Our room was small, think similar to what you will find in Europe with a narrow staircase. I thought the price was high for what you get. They did provide a complimentary van for dinner since parking is so tight at their location..

L’Auberge has such a wonderful reputation. We were so looking forward to staying there. Our checking experience was great. Hilary and Randy were wonderful and extremely helpful. Their services match the reputation. Other upsides are they’ve 2 bottles of 1 litter water, one flat one sparking in the fridge in the room and breakfasts were decent. However, the facility is dated. The shower was more like mist. The bath tab water appears to have pretty good water pressure. So, the misty shower must to do with the mediocre shower head which offers no control other than on and off, hot and cold. The toilet and accessories design appears to have lack of consideration of ergonomics. The springy bed and hard pillows make it uncomfortable to sleep.
The hotel is located in the heart of Carmel. Excellent for getting around but every morning 7-8 am the loud noise from garbage pick up trucks woke us up. We were on second floor. I can only assume it would be worse for guests on the ground floor. If your choice of staying at L’Auberge is because of its 2-Michelin-star restaurant, please be aware that it closes on Monday and Tuesday.
