Not worth the location

The staff was nice to us and even let us have breakfast after they closed. The location was great.

Things like the body wash, tissues, toilet paper were not refilled. No cleaning was done during our entire stay (4 nights). The kitchen had NOTHING, that's not an exaggeration. No dish soap for the sink, no utensils, no paper towel. Absolutely nothing. The room was very worn and out of date. The bed was uncomfortable and only a very thin blanket was on it.

the location is about all that i liked and the fire pit. parking was a plus. there is not much else that i would like to say but your forcing me to write more...

the construction happening was not optimal. The bed sucks and the pillows and the sheets and the towels were horrible. Everything in the room needs renovation. There was rust everywhere. The AC was terrible.

Property is old and worn. Could use some TLC. Simple improvements like working window blinds and screens would help. Also, there were no grab bars in bathroom making getting in and out of the tub in an extremely small bath dangerous. The cost of parking was a bit excessive considering there was no security.

A Carlsbad gem

It's hard to beat this view and the proximity to so many great restaurants and bars. Everyone was so friendly, and the woman who handles the daily breakfast is the best. So enjoyable!

Almost perfect stay! The Best Western Plus Beach View Lodge in Carlsbad exceeded expectations in so many ways — the breakfast was great, customer service was warm and attentive, and the location couldn’t be better. It’s close to everything yet just far enough to feel peaceful and quiet. I especially loved the fire pit area and the ocean view, which made mornings and evenings feel extra special. The only downside was the super tight parking spaces — definitely manageable, just a bit tricky if you have a larger vehicle. Overall, an amazing spot for a relaxing getaway. I’d absolutely stay here again! 🌊🔥

The property was very clean: the flowers were pretty and the ladies in the breakfast serving area were very helpful and friendly. In addition, we could walk to restaurants; the shops and the beach!

The only negative thing I can think of is there are a lot of steps on the property which was difficult for my Mom to get around. We had no other complaints.

Outrageous price for value!!! Place is a dump-old converted apartment building. Could not access the elevator with the only one luggage cart. Extremely difficult for people with any kind of mobility or handicap. Bathroom was a joke. Air conditioning was worthless.
