Overall our stay was excellent

Room is huge ,clean and bathroom is updated.Complete with microwave,fridge &Keureg coffee maker.Staff are friendly & we were checked in very early for free.There's elevator from garage.

Noisy A//C and our room is facing intersection of the highway so we could hear the loud vehicles/ motorcycles racing middle of the night.Next visit,I'll request for a room not facing the street.

Nice place for a comfortable night

I really enjoyed my stay at the Carlyle Hotel in San Jose. The location is great — convenient for getting around the city and close to the main roads, which makes travel easy. The price was very reasonable for the quality, and the room was spacious, comfortable, and well equipped. It’s definitely a good option for both short and long stays, as the hotel provides everything you need for an enjoyable visit. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, always making sure guests feel at home. I also appreciated the overall cleanliness and calm atmosphere of the hotel. There are a few shops nearby, which is nice for quick errands, even though the area isn’t particularly busy — perfect if you prefer a quieter environment

There wasn’t much I didn’t like. The hotel is located near main roads, but the rooms are surprisingly quiet, so noise was not an issue. They offer coffee both in the rooms and in the lobby, which is a nice touch — it would just be even better if tea were available as well. Overall, the Carlyle Hotel is a comfortable, affordable, and welcoming place to stay in San Jose. I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxed and convenient stay, especially if you’re planning to stay more than just a couple of nights.

I enjoyed my stay there and would stay again if I ever happen to be in the area.

Location was great and not far from the event I traveled to. The hotel and room were nicely decorated...maybe a little outdated, style-wise, but still in good shape. I would stay there again. I was on the first floor which was convenient for backs and forth with my luggage, bags. The gentleman behind the desk was very nice, friendly. The room was very comfortable and the price was right compared to the hotel I stayed at elsewhere last weekend where the room was "adequate" but way overpriced. The elevator to the garage worked fine and was very convenient. I might recommend a larger hanging "Elevator" sign in the garage as I didn't even notice it and walked out front on the sidewalk to the front entrance as I didn't see the elevator when I first checked in.

I barely got a parking spot in the under-hotel parking garage after returning from my event around 10:30p. The space I found to park in was in a back corner and took some maneuvering to fit my standard size car into. The condition of the room was fine; however, it seems the broken mirror shelf was tackily repaired and, in my opinion, should've just been removed and new wall mirror put in so as to not have dried glue smeared everywhere. There is plenty of room on the vanity top itself for bathroom stuff of guests. But that's somewhat minor. All else was just fine.

In general inspection the hotel is good but the deposit fee they charge is ridiculous.

Only the location of the radio and the parking system are nice

Dirty. I got first room with smoke and muddy smell, changed to a second room and I got bug bite. The carpet is gross inside the room. The shower tub is rusty. I voiced my bug bite concern, and owner is very greedy just said next time discount and didn’t want to make it right. My bug bite is getting worse over 3 days.

Everytime we pass this hotel we call it scam Carlyle hotel

It was very comfortable and clean but…….

We got totally scammed. We booked on the booking app and payed with the credit card for our room and when we arrived the receptionist told us when we booked online we were paying for the security deposit for the room and we would have to pay for the room again and the credit card we used to pay online would get refunded. Never got the money back into our credit card and payed an extra $120 for just the night.

Great price for what we get!

I booked the hotel for the July 4th weekend with some friends. We brought some of our own food to share with each other. And very pleased to learn that the hotel has a lobby area with a few table and chairs that we can sit together and chat and enjoy our foods in a clean and quiet environment. Jay at the front desk has been so helpful and friendly. The entire stay is very pleasant and enjoyable for us.

Decent hotel, problems with front-desk staff

Nice clean room with everything we needed for our stay. The location was not as bad as I feared, because it's near an intersection of a busy road with a freeway. Luckily, we had a room on the back side of the hotel, not facing the street.

The front desk person first gave me a key for an already occupied room. This is potentially unsafe. Luckily, nothing happened. I went back and got a key to another room. However, this key did not open the door. So, I had to go back the third time and get a key. I stayed in hundreds of hotels worldwide, but this is the first time it took three tries to get into my room. The location is at a busy intersection.

This is an excellent hotel, kept clean, and staffed with friendly, efficient people.

Checking into the Carlyle was the easiest check-in I've ever experienced. The staff were exceptionally friendly and efficient. The room was very well appointed and decorated, clean, and well-organized. Paint, caulk, etc. are kept up to high standards. I highly recommend this hotel.

Not so hot.

The room was clean and comfortable.

Our room, #101, was right next to the laundry room where the maids cleaned the linens. The whole room shook with a rumble from the giant commercial washing machines all day. While they stopped at night, there was no way to take a nap in our room during the day. I don’t know if it was related, but we never had any hot water in our bathroom. It was luke-warm at best, no matter how long we ran it. I like a hot shower. On the last day of our stay, my wife just skipped a shower, rather than deal with the barely warm water.

Cheapest room not far from Los Gatos

Room was large and clean with coffee, microwave and fridge. The water in sink and shower was never hot. Shower varied from cold to lukewarm at best. Lacking any renovation, for example the sockets are old so that the plug fits in loosely with risk of falling out.
