Excellent service and tasty food

Elevator traffic… had to walk down to lobby. Big problem

Excellent location with access to the subway and central park easily reachable. The hotel is clean and feels quite exclusive which is very welcoming. The room size was excellent and the desk with two chairs in the room was great for eating at. Tea and coffee in the room was nice and water was replaced daily. We didn't use the gym but visited it and it looked well equipped. We extended check out to 1200 at no extra cost which helped with the final day. It was easy to run to central park to join all the other runners too.

The safe in the room didn't work on arrival and although a maintenance guy came to look at it and told me the battery needed replacing (which i'd already told him was the problem) he said he would get someone to do it the next day. They never turned up and we never got it fixed. The illuminated magnifying mirror in the bathroom didn't work either and this was also not fixed. It would have been very helpful as the lighting in the bathroom was poor. The shower curtain is fabricy, and as a result smelt damp which detracted from the overall experience of the room. The view out the window was non existent. At the 10th floor looking to a small light well the amount of scaffold or something leading up the building to somewhere around the 35th floor meant it was dark all day, so pointless even bothering to open the curtains in the morning.

The location is great and the staff are friendly.

The hotel is really dated, the bathroom sink leaked and so did the toilet, the shower head didn’t move position and was just facing in an awkward position. The hotel had an awful smell right outside towards end of our stay not sure if it was the sewage. They charge to hold luggage and this is cash only, never paid for luggage hold at a hotel before so something to be aware of.
