Motel et Chalets Bo-Fleuve Evangeline

Wonderful location, calm, good for your soul. Cosy cottage, nice area, friendly locals.

Its a nice location, in between La Malbaie and the Tadoussac ferry, right by the sea. The cottage is spacious and well equipped. We were happy to use the kitchen to prepare our breakfast and diners. We got a comfy king size bed with lots of bedding options like extra pillows and comforters. The living area/kitchen is a large open area with lots of seating areas. There’s a patio with chairs and adirondack chairs right in front of the cottage, to sit outside. There are adirondack chairs by the front desk area (5 min walk) that have an unobstructed view of the sea, and that can be used by everyone. There’s an outdoor spa near the front desk. We’d like to come back, but will make sure to book early and request a 1st row cottage.

We got a 2nd row cottage (last minute booking), so there was no real view of the sea, unlike what booking indicated. It’s more of a (very) partial view, that you get from in between the 1st row cottages. We were disappointed and think it’s a bit overpriced considering there’s no real view. I think the 2nd row cottages should have their own category/description on booking. Regardless, we took advantage of the adirondack chairs by the front desk. There was no hairdryer nor an electric kettle, as indicated on booking. I ended up into using one of the cooking pots for boiling water. Plan on bringing any cooking oil and spices if you plan on cooking during your stay. There’s a market not too far, by car, if you forget something. The spa lacks a bit of intimacy: it’s just sitting in an open space, right next to the parking lot, and you can see the cars passing by the road. Maybe it’s to take in the view, i’m not sure. The temperature in the area can vary a lot from one day to another: we ended up using our own portable fan on a warmer night as there’s no AC.
