Waterfront Hotel Downtown Burlington

Location was excellent! Beautiful view of the lake and walking distance to lots of good eats! Staff is friendly. Rooms are clean and beds are comfy.

Breakfast was simple but good. Nice that you could sit outside and look at the lake.

Maybe change from sausages every day to bacon or ham. Nice to change it up. Plus scrambled eggs would be a nice addition.

the room was lovely, very clean and the bed was comfortable. Check in staff were pleasant. I LOVE that they have a pool and laundry services. Also love that they have some gluten-free options at breakfast (bread, a safe toaster only used for gluten free bread, and gf rice chex cereal). We stopped there on a big bike trip along the Waterfront Trail from Toronto and they were kind enough to allow us to store our bikes in a storage room - wonderful! Also love the location - right on the waterfront (All the other hotels are up by the highway - mush less pleasant and for us - far out of the way).

We didn't like that the air conditioner was on when we arrived. We turned it off immediately but still the room was chilly all night. Who has th air conditioner on when the outside temp is 22?? Also, that they have the ac on in every empty room is a huge waste of electricity and meant that during breakfast on the patio we were subjected to the constant loud drone of dozens of air conditioners. I wish they would just let people turn it on if they want it, but the standard should be that they are off when the room is empty! Also, breakfast was served on disposable dishes - another huge environmental waste. Surely a hotel has a dishwasher! There is no reason to use disposables! On top of that, there was no garbage sorting so all the compost, recycling everything from breakfast goes to landfill! That alone is enough to make me not want to stay there again. Please show a little care for our planet!!!! My third comment is about gluten-free options for breakfast - when I asked the staff person isa the hot food was gluten free (eggs, sausage and hash browns) she said "probably not". I had to ask her to please ask the kitchen to get a definite answer - probably isn't god enough. She did check with the kitchen and said that the cook said she wouldn't eat it. Again, not a clear answer. I was hoping for a pic of the ingredients list for the package and maybe a discussion of their procedures to avoid gluten cross-contamination in the kitchen. In the end I skipped the hot food but am disappointed.
