    Budget hostel with reasonable pricing with complimentary simple bsft at the heart of Vancouver city centre. Clean premises and room/bed. Clean but small bathroom/shower rooms. No lift. No easy for traveller with heavy bag. Reception staff are not friendly but gets you check in.

    The location was ideal and definitely one of the best things about staying at Samesun. The breakfast was decent, it was enough to fill you up and start the day. The toilets and showers were clean, which I appreciated. However, one major downside is that there is absolutely no elevator anywhere in the hotel. If you have heavy luggage, be prepared to carry everything up and down the stairs, which can be really inconvenient. Unfortunately, the biggest negative for me was the reception staff. The ladies at reception consistently came across as unfriendly and unapproachable. They often looked annoyed, as though they were being forced to be there and the overall attitude did not feel welcoming at all. For a place where reception is the first point of contact with guests, this really affected the experience. Overall, the location, cleanliness and basic breakfast were good, but the lack of an elevator and especially the unpleasant attitude at reception brought the stay down considerably.
