if you are on a budget in the Bring Cash province this is probably a good option

Centrally located easy to walk anywhere but quite a lot of homeless street people around. It was a decent hostel about what I expected for a hostel, Vancouver prices are a rip off and you could get something similar in Auckland NZ for less than half the price but had to make the best of it

Convenient and comfortable

Location is perfect and the staff were pleasant and helpful. I was surprised at how thick and comfortable the blanket was, it was perfect since it was such a cold night. Bathrooms were really clean as well.

Very minor, but I thought it was silly that they charge $5 to request a bottom bunk, especially since the room was not sold out that night.

In short, it is a neat, convenient, affordable, and cozy place.

The place is located downtown, so it is very easy to plan your trip. The breakfast is excellent and includes fruits and eggs, which make healthier options available. The best part is that both the rooms and public spaces are clean, and the staff always provide kind and friendly assistance.

There are several bars and pubs nearby. At night, it can be a little noisy, but the place provides earplugs. They worked well for me, so I slept well during my vacation.

You will want to extend

Super comfy bed, nice sheets and comforter nice solid bunks with locker, light and power outlets. Excellent breakfast included. Very clean. They have Canuck’s tickets at a great price. Nice casual atmosphere. Location is great.

I loved the kitchen and common rooms, the breakfast was amazing! My bed was super comfortable! The showers were always clean and while they were a little small, I was still able to comfortably shower and change (i'm not a small person). I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did.

Excellent hostel, one of the best ones I have been in.

Location is perfect and secure, room clean or organized, breakfast was healthy and they always had coffee available.

Maybe the booking process, where they disregarded I requested the quietest room I could get and they put me in the loudest one, fortunately they could change it so I was happy with the one I got.

Great breakfast as a hostel, Friendly staff, comfortable bed and sheets, clean room

The location is at downtown, accessible to almost everything. Although it's noisy downstairs, surprisingly, the room is pretty quiet and I had a good sleep. The breakfast is great, nutritious, and matches my expectations. The staff is friendly, and check-in is quite smooth. The room is clean, the bed is comfy, and the bathrooms are well-maintained.

The only complaint would be the smell of the room. I stayed in room#308. When I entered the room, I could smell a strong, sweaty odor, not the fresh type, but rather the dried-out smell. Unsure if other rooms have a similar situation. The room needs more ventilation for sure, or open the window more. After I stay in the room for a while, maybe my nose gets used to the smell so I don't notice it anymore. But when I exit the room and come back, I can smell it again.

Clean and Tidy, but location and single glazed windows can set you up for a terrible sleep

For a hostel, it's very nice. Clean, comfortable. The staff were nice enough. Rooms were fine. I stayed in a 4 bed bunk.

Unfortunately do not expect a good nights sleep as it is on one of the busiest party streets in Vancouver. My fault for not checking. The windows are only single glazed / have a hole in them for ventilation. As a result, you can hear all the drunk people, police sirens and general chaos going on outside.

Highly recommend

Pleasantly surprised with the Samesun Vancouver. Beds are comfy with curtains for some privacy. The breakfast was a highlight with some fresh baggles, veggies, fruits, and eggs! Bathroom were clean and towels soft. Great location at a walking distance to many nice places.

Not a big fan of the drawers/lockers underneath the beds but I understand their practicity for space saving reasons

Loved the place and location, but those banging doors drove me a little crazy!

The hostel has an excellent location — right in the heart of Vancouver, with numerous shops, cafes, and amenities nearby. The rooms are comfortable, and I really liked how the bathrooms are organised. The toilets and showers are in separate cabins, which helps avoid waiting and keeps everything flowing smoothly. They provide towels (which were spotless!) and the bed linen was also spotless. Overall, a great place to stay if you want to be close to everything while still enjoying a cosy and well-maintained space.

The only problem is the door system in the rooms. The doors close automatically but don’t have any kind of soft-closing mechanism. What happens is a constant banging of doors all day and all night — it’s crazy! This was the only thing that really bothered me; it was honestly quite overwhelming.

Enjoy it; would recommend

You just can’t beat the location. Free breakfast is served from 8-11am every day with decent selection. They also have a row of fridges for folks to keep their food. Cookware, kitchenware and dinning table ware are supplied free of charge. You will just clean them yourselves. The facility overall is clean. They also offer free day language storage if you have some time to spare after checking out.

I’m 5’2” and was assigned to lower bunk bed. Even I can’t sit upright so it’s difficult to image someone taller than me doing so. Also, while the bathrooms and shower rooms are overall clean, they are relatively tight but still manageable. No elevators so if you plan to bring heavy suitcases, be aware the walk upstairs might challenging. Also, book early if you can, the rates are better.

This was one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at. A good number of bathrooms and showers, everything was always clean, staff are all nice and attentive. Breakfast is pretty good for not costing extra. They organize tours, which are great.

I fondly remember my college life here, surrounded by a friendly environment and supportive people

a wonderful experience, especially for the price. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness, the friendliness of the staff, and the nice shared public area where I could work on my computer. The free breakfast added to the warm, welcoming, home-like feel.

If provide additional plugins for phone and computer chargers along the table on the first and second floor of the shared public space that will be great.

Great location hostel

Great staff, good bathroom layout. Loved the hang out area down by reception:) Awesome location too.

In the 8 person dorm the a/c doesn't really reach the 4 beds in the back part so it was very hot. Also the metal bunks do make a lot of noise. But overall a great place

Great stay, awesome staff

Super clean! My first time in a hostel so I didn’t know what to expect exactly but it was a cool experience. I’m hoping my others along the road are like this. The staff are friendly and helpful and always have a smile on their faces. The building like I say is very clean and there’s plenty of privacy in the dorms with the curtains on the beds.

It is in the centre of town so expect there to be noise. But you can grab some earplugs from reception and you’ll be reet. That’s all I can moan about
