Embassy Suites by Hilton Philadelphia Airport

Stayed at Embassy Suites Philadelphia Airport over Mother's Day weekend with my fiance and my 12 year old son. It's located on Bartram Ave. The hotel is pretty dated, cracks in our bathroom ceiling that look like they have just been painted over several times. We went to get ice from the machine down the hall, and the entire ceiling above the machine in the back had fallen. There were wet ceiling tiles laying all over the floor with visible mold. We were able to clearly hear other people in other rooms when in the bathroom. My son found old makeup products under the sofa and old food and wrappers under the TV stand. Breakfast was good, lots of options. However there were tons and tons of kids running around being loud and getting in others way while trying to grab breakfast. We tried to use the pool on Saturday, but we walked in and immediately walked right back out. Pool was extremely cloudy. Could barely even see down to the third step. Had all kinds of nasty things floating in it. Also had one of the lights inside it that had somehow come out of the wall of the pool and was just a huge metal light fixture floating by the side with exposed wiring. Told the front desk and they told us that maintenance was on break, they recommended not using the pool but it was never closed. My son was looking forward to swimming and was very let down. We tried again later that night to visit the pool, hoping the issues had been fixed, but we were informed by a staff member that the manager had closed it at 6 or 7pm instead of the normal 10pm closing time due to people ignoring the no smoking/alcohol rule, smoking on the attached outdoor patio and the kids being rowdy and causing issues. Checked out Sunday at 1lam and we asked the front desk if my son could swim since we couldn't the whole weekend. The woman at the desk told us he could swim for an hour and that was it. Pool was still disgusting when we arrived and was still extremely cloudy. Tons of unsupervised kids. Huge puddles of water all around the pool that are a huge hazard. There were popped balloons all over the ground, a pair of underwear left on the floor, tons of other trash and nasty things on the floor. Hot tub looks like it was filled in with concrete. However the site still had it shown as an amenity. The pool bathroom was also unkept and moldy. For the amount I paid for a two night stay, including a $100/night deposit, it was not worth it at all. What looked to us online as a well kept, clean and modern hotel proved to be quite the opposite. The only positive besides decent food at breakfast was the front desk receptionist. She was very personable and sweet. Helped us as best she could.

The staff is 1. unfriendly (no smile, tensed face, dull). 2. impatience (she attends so many phone calls while handling my check-in, and she can't work under stress with a multitasking job). 3. not professional, and kept saying couldn't find my reservations and I showed her the Agoda booking fully paid. Yet she couldn't handle it and finally, she managed to read properly the agoda reservations details. Spent almost 10 mins and wasting my time! She is incompetent and shouldn't be at the front desk counter. The worst experience I had so far in my business travels. The WIFI is superb sucks. It's not recommended to stay in this hotel.

This hotel was out of control. There was not an area of the hotel that was not over-run with wild kids. Kids running the halls at all hours. Kids throwing footballs in the Atrium Area where guest were dining. Parents yelling and screaming at kids from the Atrium to the high floors (~ 6-7). Additionally, my room was not clean, heavy dust in the bathroom and on the air vent. Heavy stains on the sofa cushions that looked like blood. Had to make multiple calls to get housekeeping to address my concerns. The Front Desk staff exerted no effort to handle situations and failed to respond to complaints either in person or via the phone. I am told that this behavior is consistent with the Embassy Suites brand and thus I will not stay with them again. I was very disappointed.

Definitely had a nice clean environment. Very relaxing.
