The Scotsman Inn

Beautifully furnished hotel and wonderful hosts!

Well kept place, great location.

The stairs to the top rooms were as advertised.

After checking in and dropping our bags, we were offered a glass of wine(or other beverage) on the patio to get aquainted with the owners and other guests. There was suggestions and incites of restaurants in the area, things to see and do as well as a history of the inn, the town and surrounding area. The optional breakfast provided was excellent, all homemade! Our visit at the Scotsman Inn was over the Thanksgiving weekend and not in the busy season, and as such our queen bed room was upgraded to a King room. The room with a huge 4 poster bed was incredible, with beautifully appointed furnishings and 12 foot ceilings. We cannot say enough good things about the level of care that Sandy and Cathy have as hosts, they really do put their heart and soul into the Inn and ensuring that the guests have a wonderful experience. Thank you so much!

Cathy and Sandy have done a great job converting an old building to an inn. They are both very approachable, knowledgeable and very willing to help the travelers. There is a guest balcony and small garden, although we had rain during our stay so did not take advantage of it.

We had a disappointing stay, partly because of the weather and partly because we found Pictou itself to be quite lackluster (although we loved the ship Hector revitalization visit). Sandy and Cathy were very helpful and the room was ok, but of the six hotels/inns we stayed in during our 10 day visit, this was the most expensive.
