Excellent Hotel

The location of the hotel was perfect for my needs. I attended a concert at the Sound, which was across the street from the hotel. It was a perfect walk to and from the hotel. The hotel overall was great with attentive and courteous staff.

It was a nice hotel with NO perks

The hotel had a very nice large pool and jacuzzi. The beds were comfy and the rooms were spacious

They had a breakfast buffet that was not any better than any other hotel for $30. It should have been included in the rate. Paying to park your own car is ridiculous which was $35 a night

Comfortable, convenient and cozy!

We attended a concert across the street at The Sound. The location was perfect; convenient and easy to get to.

It seemed strange to have to pay for parking separately at this location. In very dense cities, paying for parking makes sense, but it did not seem like parking was a premium here.

Room needs help

The property was very nice. Close to the racetrack. They offered a shuttle, but we didn't know about it. The pool was wonderful. Not many people at the property made it very relaxing.

The room was handicap accessible but really wasn't. Number 1. It had a bathtub. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was not very functional. There is no outlet close to the sink to plug in curling iron or blow dryer. The living space did not have a desk to compensate for the lack of functionality in the bathroom.

We would stay again, very convenient to the race track.

Overlooking the pool, cloudy relaxing mornings, quiet for the most part except for a wedding, which went on a little late, music and all. But otherwise we would stay again.

Room was nice but we did have some ant issues, there were a few in the bathroom and we did find a couple in our bed. Not really what we wanted, but I guess some ants are better than bed bugs. Also, the furniture looked a bit dated.

The rooms were very spacious and updated. The bed was also very comfortable. The location is right next to the racetrack and they also have a complementary shuttle to take you over there and back. The pool area is very large and the patio leading out from the bar is very nice and serene to have dinner and drinks.

Cocktails in the bar were a little steep. I was surprised also because it was happy hour.

Not very impressed.

The inside of the facility was very pretty, and the pool area had several patio sets and fire tables to enjoy by the pool.

The bathroom in our room had a musky smell, there was no hand soap and the shower gel pump bottle was empty. They charged $4 for a mediocre cup of coffee in the lobby in the mornings. I felt that I everything cost extra and was overpriced. On the morning of checkout, the entire hotel lost power for 20 minutes. The backup generators did not kick in. Doors would not open because locks are electromagnetic. When we left our room to take a load of luggage to the car, we left the do not disturb sign on the handle but housekeeping still came in and cleared out the room including the food and drinks we planned to pack in our ice chest for the day. They threw it out including my Tupperware containers with fruit. It was only 9:30 am and checkout was at 11. Our stay was not a positive experience.

It's so quiet and peaceful here. The rooms are so nice and the beds so comfy. Definitely meet our expectations and will be booking again 😁 for our next visit to SD.

Pool wasn't ready with being heated. The jacuzzi was wonderful tho.

Just ok.

The location was somewhat convenient especially for those going to the track. There were nice shopping areas near by. Good walking trails and it was for external activities a nice place.

The room was not clean when I got there. The shower had so much hair in the shower it was absurd. It was dingy and there was what looked like a blood stain on the curtains and this was the “presidential suite”. It was on the first floor which was not stated on the site and for a woman traveling this is important when making booking decisions. The room had those Zeno bug traps in the outlets which was tacky in my opinion. The bed wasnt’ very comfortable and everything was rather old and dingy. Definitely not worth the price I paid.

Everything. This hotel was beautiful, well located, and comfortable. The staff was really friendly and helpful, they even gave our puppy a toy when he came to say hello. Very pet friendly but super clean, huge pool with awesome hot tub and outdoor fire pits. Located right off the freeway for easy access, but still far enough to be very quiet, and it offered good parking. Beds were super comfortable and bathroom was spacious. Seriously no complaints.

I upgraded to a room with patio or balcony. I was given a room without that and before the valet could unload our luggage, I called the front desk and was given a terrible time about changing my room - receptionist blamed booking.com and even though I could show her the rez she wouldn't change the room - finally someone else did and comped us a breakfast. BE AWARE THAT IF YOU DRIVE A CAR HERE, NOT ONLY WILL YOU BE CHARGED $30 A NIGHT FOR PARKING, BUT THE HOTEL IS ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE FAIRGROUNDS AND RACE TRACK - TO REACH THE LEFT OR RIGHT TURN (FROM THE OTHER DIRECTION) TOOK OVER AN HOUR - NOT KIDDING - ALL ENTRANCES TO HOTEL WERE BACKED UP ONTO FREEWAY BOTH DIRECTIONS AND SIDE STREETS. If you use booking.com make sure you have your rez number AND pin number - otherwise you won't be able to reach anyone if you have trouble.

Mediocre experience

The location was good, the room had good design.

The rooms need upgraded, also deep cleaned. A lot of spider webs, chipped paint, the shower head was rusty. The pack n play had a hole in it and was pretty dirty, didn’t even want my baby to lay in it.

Superb

I like the room it is very clean. A clean room is one of the most important criteria for a hotel. I was worried about the dust on the ground if I walk in room without any shoes or slipper, they will stick on my feet. But I didn't feel it, that's the part I love. The room I booked is for two people, but I travel alone so it was very comfy for me.

There's nothing I don't like about it. The hotel meets its star rating.
