The location was very convenient. The front desk staff was pleasant upon check in.
The room was run down and the furniture felt unclean. There was a dried substance on the front of tv screen which looked as though someone had spit on the screen. The shower water would not heat in the morning and I had to take cold showers both mornings. The biggest issue is the room smelled very strongly of a musty, mildew/ wet dog odor. I thought it may be from dirty carpet which made my socks dirty. But it was hard to know why it smelled so horribly . It was raining outside so perhaps there was water seepage somewhere. The smell was so strong I ran to target and purchased Lysol spray, and a citrus room deodorizer and a candle.
The products helped some but were not enough to alleviate the bad smell.

When I checked in, the staff was very nice. And I appreciated that.
The place was dilapidated. And dirty and was not represented well at all. They claimed one thing in the advertisement and it was completely different. Overpriced old falling apart. Holes and walls mold in the bathroom old vents that have cloth wiring in them that are falling off the bathroom wall walls toilets that are missing parts. It was disgusting. Honestly I didn’t even wanna walk on the floors, barefoot.
The outside is dirty, trash all about walls, dirty it’s I’ll never say that again. I understand that they’re redoing some of it, but the least they could do is have it clean pick up the trash, fix the holes in the wall and get rid of the mold in the bathrooms, that’s disgusting sorry and not charge as much as they charge for a hotel in this condition. I’m very disappointed and do not feel that I should’ve paid the price that I paid. I got two rooms and ““ Supposed better rooms than the other rooms. I can’t imagine what the other rooms were.

There was nothing I liked about this property.
The hot tub was closed down, the staff wouldn’t tell us how much they were charging our card at check in. She said the manager was out smoking and doesn’t like to be bothered so we waited for his smoke break to be over before we could check in. The rooms are nasty and dirty, everyone smokes outside the rooms. Lots of sketchy people around.

Great location for price
It’s definitely worn down, I know they are in the process of gutting rooms (because we stayed in the room next to construction). We did end up moving because it was so loud at 6:30 am. But just worn down, sink wouldn’t drain, maintenance had to come screw in shower handle for us. I’m sure it’ll be nice and new next time we stay

Great location and price for a deluxe room, the staff and manager Gary were very accommodating and friendly, clean room and comfy bed - it made this once in a life time trip, and proposal to my now fiancée just as good, thank you from the bottom of my heart!

The extremely rude guest services. Took over 30 minutes to check in. Refused for us to check in early, though clearly the place wasn’t filled up. Everyone was checking in at 3. Why make us wait to 3 if you can’t handle all the guests simultaneously? We didn’t get in our room until 4 pm. Additionally, the sink was extremely dirty when I arrived. They didn’t even clean it, clearly.

Stayed there on Wednesday and our toilet was overflowing so went and told staff who was very nice but both were new and they told us the place probably won’t be there much longer but they would be there Sunday when we planned on returning for our night there before we returned home. Got there Monday and the crew from Wednesday was not there at all but the Manager was there arguing with a customer who finally told him to cancel his room and start over as new since the mgr kept telling him to call Wyndham instead of talking to him! Complete clusterfk of customer service and when we got there and checked in they gave us keys and said room would be ready soon so we left and came back two hours later and when we got there maid was still in our room and we set some things down and she tossed them in her trash before we were able to talk do guest services who gave us a room that was the farthest room away from the office where we had handicapped parking. The room we got had no coffee pot so we had to call and get one. The creamer was cemented together in the packet and not powder and the room had no hot water!! We will never go back to that place again as long as it is under the ownership it is now! Even the breakfast had no eggs or sausage as listed the next morning! Not worth a dime to stay there. Just ask the tourists who were also pissed out of their minds that were in line there. Truly sad since the previous crew of new guest services people who were there the previous Wednesday were so nice and apologetic for the POS accommodations!! Sad since we have loved staying there for decades in the past even though it is a very old motel.

Before booking, I called the hotel specifically to ask about early check-in. I was told to call the day before my arrival and that it shouldn’t be an issue because the hotel wasn’t fully booked. When I called the day before, I was told to call back after 11:00 AM on the day of check-in so they could confirm room availability. This was fine because we only needed to check in around 1:00 PM.However, when I called at 11:00 AM, the front desk said no rooms were available at all for early check-in—not even if we switched to a queen room. We were literally asking for just a 2-hour early check-in, and the inconsistency in their answers was frustrating.
We ended up having to wait until the regular 3:00 PM check-in time.
When we finally entered our room, things got worse. The room smelled absolutely horrible, like someone had been smoking in it. The odor was so strong that we asked the housekeeper next door to spray, she then handed us a bottle of air freshener. The bed felt like sleeping on a wooden box, the room was outdated, wallpaper was peeling in the bathroom, and worst of all, there were cockroaches in the room.
Between the poor communication, the lack of availability despite being told otherwise, the terrible room condition, and the cleanliness issues, I cannot recommend Ramada by Wyndham Costa Mesa Newport . This was an extremely disappointing experience, and I would not stay here again.

It’s old property and wear off. The hotel wall don’t have proper insulation, it’s so noisy. You can hear any one walking in front of your door, on the upper floor and if someone taking a bath in the nearby room. It’s terrible for a light sleeper like me. We stayed for 2 nights, and they didn’t make up the room at all, hence we must use the damp towel for the second night.

The toilet could NOT have had a bunch of hair floating in it. The toilet could have NOT had a broken chain in the tank and disconnected water tube that shot up at me when i tried to fix it. It would have been nice to NOT have to take off the tank lid and stick your hand in the water each time you wanted to flush. The wall paper in the sink and bathroom areas were peeling off the wall. It seemed so seedy that we didn't want to step on the carpet without shoes. When the staff was informed upon checkout, there no sorry, no interest, no concern. etc. I thought the name Ramada Wyndom brand meant a certain standard but not at this location. Unfortunate.

I have stayed here for over 12 years, the staff is always very helpful and friendly. Even though this hotel is older the rooms are comfortable and affordable. The location is perfect.
The rooms need to be updated. I would have liked to have a micro wave in the room. The continental breakfast was not very appetizing and needs a bit more variety.

I stayed at this Ramada Inn recently and was really disappointed. The property feels very run-down and in serious need of renovation. The carpets were stained, furniture was old and worn, and the room has a musty smell when I first checked in.
Shower head was broken and drain was half-clogged. Not exactly the type of bathtub you'd want to enjoy a soak after a long day.

Rooms are old, carpet is dirty,we’ve got our keys and when we’ve entered the room there was a guy from maintenance inside the room spraying something above the door . I guess it was some insecticide because it was a gap between the ceiling and wall and the smell was terrible , reason why we had to stay with our windows opened for the whole afternoon. My wife went to ask for another room but she was just told “we have none left” and that’s it. No apologies or to doublecheck if everything was alright.
Anyway I wouldn’t recommend.
