Sad but have to say we will not be back unless under new ownership!!

Been going there for over 30 years since I used to live in the neighborhood!!

Stayed there on Wednesday and our toilet was overflowing so went and told staff who was very nice but both were new and they told us the place probably won’t be there much longer but they would be there Sunday when we planned on returning for our night there before we returned home. Got there Monday and the crew from Wednesday was not there at all but the Manager was there arguing with a customer who finally told him to cancel his room and start over as new since the mgr kept telling him to call Wyndham instead of talking to him! Complete clusterfk of customer service and when we got there and checked in they gave us keys and said room would be ready soon so we left and came back two hours later and when we got there maid was still in our room and we set some things down and she tossed them in her trash before we were able to talk do guest services who gave us a room that was the farthest room away from the office where we had handicapped parking. The room we got had no coffee pot so we had to call and get one. The creamer was cemented together in the packet and not powder and the room had no hot water!! We will never go back to that place again as long as it is under the ownership it is now! Even the breakfast had no eggs or sausage as listed the next morning! Not worth a dime to stay there. Just ask the tourists who were also pissed out of their minds that were in line there. Truly sad since the previous crew of new guest services people who were there the previous Wednesday were so nice and apologetic for the POS accommodations!! Sad since we have loved staying there for decades in the past even though it is a very old motel.

Before booking, I called the hotel specifically to ask about early check-in. I was told to call the day before my arrival and that it shouldn’t be an issue because the hotel wasn’t fully booked. When I called the day before, I was told to call back after 11:00 AM on the day of check-in so they could confirm room availability. This was fine because we only needed to check in around 1:00 PM.However, when I called at 11:00 AM, the front desk said no rooms were available at all for early check-in—not even if we switched to a queen room. We were literally asking for just a 2-hour early check-in, and the inconsistency in their answers was frustrating. We ended up having to wait until the regular 3:00 PM check-in time. When we finally entered our room, things got worse. The room smelled absolutely horrible, like someone had been smoking in it. The odor was so strong that we asked the housekeeper next door to spray, she then handed us a bottle of air freshener. The bed felt like sleeping on a wooden box, the room was outdated, wallpaper was peeling in the bathroom, and worst of all, there were cockroaches in the room. Between the poor communication, the lack of availability despite being told otherwise, the terrible room condition, and the cleanliness issues, I cannot recommend Ramada by Wyndham Costa Mesa Newport . This was an extremely disappointing experience, and I would not stay here again.

Terrible stay, better find some other hotel.

It’s old property and wear off. The hotel wall don’t have proper insulation, it’s so noisy. You can hear any one walking in front of your door, on the upper floor and if someone taking a bath in the nearby room. It’s terrible for a light sleeper like me. We stayed for 2 nights, and they didn’t make up the room at all, hence we must use the damp towel for the second night.

The bed was comfortable. The ac worked. That's it.

The toilet could NOT have had a bunch of hair floating in it. The toilet could have NOT had a broken chain in the tank and disconnected water tube that shot up at me when i tried to fix it. It would have been nice to NOT have to take off the tank lid and stick your hand in the water each time you wanted to flush. The wall paper in the sink and bathroom areas were peeling off the wall. It seemed so seedy that we didn't want to step on the carpet without shoes. When the staff was informed upon checkout, there no sorry, no interest, no concern. etc. I thought the name Ramada Wyndom brand meant a certain standard but not at this location. Unfortunate.

It was pleasant and comfortable

I have stayed here for over 12 years, the staff is always very helpful and friendly. Even though this hotel is older the rooms are comfortable and affordable. The location is perfect.

The rooms need to be updated. I would have liked to have a micro wave in the room. The continental breakfast was not very appetizing and needs a bit more variety.

This hotel fell far short of expectations and is in need of serious updates.

The only positive thing I can say about this property is that it offers free parking! And the room photos on booking.com? Absolutely stunning… too bad they look nothing like the real thing.

I stayed at this Ramada Inn recently and was really disappointed. The property feels very run-down and in serious need of renovation. The carpets were stained, furniture was old and worn, and the room has a musty smell when I first checked in. Shower head was broken and drain was half-clogged. Not exactly the type of bathtub you'd want to enjoy a soak after a long day.

Rooms are old, carpet is dirty,we’ve got our keys and when we’ve entered the room there was a guy from maintenance inside the room spraying something above the door . I guess it was some insecticide because it was a gap between the ceiling and wall and the smell was terrible , reason why we had to stay with our windows opened for the whole afternoon. My wife went to ask for another room but she was just told “we have none left” and that’s it. No apologies or to doublecheck if everything was alright. Anyway I wouldn’t recommend.

The worst place I have ever stayed in.

Nothing. I have travelled all around the world. It was horrible.

They said they had a restaurant. Closed nearly a year ago. Food behind the bed. Who knows when it was last cleaned. Should have been concerned when manager said you had to request service every three days. Breakfast was no better. Bowls and plates were cardboard. Cutlery was plastic. Everything had a closed up smell. Only good thing was on-site manager was okay for me checking out after one night, which I did. Honestly surviving in a bus shelter would be better than this place.

My stay was not very memorable due to amenities having ridiculous hours

The shampoo, conditioner & body wash were the best part of the hotel, aside from a comfortable bed.

This is easy to come up with. This out weighs any thing positive. The Pool closed at 9pm!!!! Who does that? And the gym did not open until 9am! Totally out of touch with people. As I told the woman at the front desk to pass this on – if I'm on vacation and I haven't worked out by 9 AM I'm probably not gonna work out at all. Anyone who wants to work out wants to get it done early perhaps before breakfast or right after breakfast so 9 AM was ridiculous. And I've never and all my years traveling heard of a pool closing so early that was super ridiculous.

Location was convenient for our visit. Several decent restaurants and interesting shops w/in walking distance. OK area for pets, however, see below . . . WiFi was reliable.

Parking lot and walkways were disgustingly dirty. Advertised as pet friendly and AFTER receiving email confirmation that our pet was OK, when we arrived we were told that the facility was NOT pet friendly. We DID get to stay with our adult dog but only after showing the "OK" email and so much palabra about new ownership and new rules - again, this was AFTER we received confirmation that our pet was OK. What a waste of 10 minutes!

I like the location and the property was clean. I enjoyed the pool and the grounds were beautiful.

There was a repetitive sound that made it hard to fall asleep. Also there were several young adults/teenagers drinking, running, fighting and knocking hard on many doors on our last night there. My friend and I asked them several times to stop knocking and being so loud, due to us having a four hour drive in the morning. After many attempts to reach the front desk with NO answer, we gave up and had a sleepless night.

Crazy amount of young kids partying all night. Talked to front desk multiple times with no luck. Police came out and finally around 3am it got quiet. Front desk couldn’t guarantee a quiet night the next night so we got a refund and stayed somewhere else.

The room was absolutely disgusting. It smelt like dog and cat pee. My clothes are ruined. I can’t get the smell out of them. I’m very upset. It was my son’s birthday trip. They gave us the worst room they had even the lady at the desk said I don’t know why they put you in there that’s a pet room. My mom is handicap so I was not able to move her around. We were all very upset and now that I’m home and I can’t get the smell out of my clothes. I’m even more upset. I would not recommend this hotel.

The rooms were overall clean. Pool and hottub is the best part of this hotel.

I would not recommend this hotel. It’s very run down and needs updating. Upon arrival, the door to our room was not all the way closed. The room Was clean, but old. We needed to utilize the sofa pull out bed. The couch looked nice but come to find out, there was a cover on it that when removed, revealed a very old, beat up sofa and pull out bed. The A/C is in the front room and doesn’t really cool down the back bedroom (for the king suite). There is a door to the bedroom for privacy, and when that’s shut, the air really doesn’t cool down the back room. There is a window that opens, but a very busy and loud street out back making it hard to sleep with the window open. The screen was also barely in the window and the acutal screen was ripped, allowing bugs in. I could also hear people yelling outside, I am assuming was homeless considering I saw multiple homeless around the property when we would come and go. The pool and hottub was nice. However, it says it’s open til 9. we went down at 8:30 and our key wouldn’t work. I called the front desk and she said she would get me a new key. After walking down to get a new key, we went back to try to use the hottub and the key still wouldn’t work. We went back to the front desk and they basically just told me to go back at 9am the next morning but this was very frustrating. The next morning we went back to the pool/hottub before having to check out. We went back to our room a little after 10, check out was at 11, and our key wouldn’t let us back in to the room even though it was well before checkout. Luckily my oldest son was still in the room to let my younger son and I back in. The free breakfast was very poor quality. Not much to choose from and things were soggy and gross. I would not stay here again and would not recommend to anyone else. I felt I over paid for the quality of this hotel. Pay a little extra and stay at a nicer hotel!
