Our 4yo LOVED the pool and slide. So that made us happy. .

The breakfast during the week in the summer was okay. The bed was comfortable, but the playpen we were giving was not good at all. The bottom was basically cardboard, and although the staff tried to help but getting blankets, we had to buy one for our baby to sleep in.

Subject: Feedback & Accessibility Recommendations — Wingate by Wyndham Edmonton West ​Hello everyone, ​I am currently writing from Alberta—a place that feels like a second home to me—where I am staying at the Wingate by Wyndham near West Edmonton Mall. This is my third stay at this property since 2021, and my past experiences here have always been exceptional. ​During this visit, as someone navigating disability and mobility challenges, I encountered a minor hiccup upon check-in when my pre-reserved accessible room was not ready, despite providing a week’s notice. However, I had the pleasure of speaking with the manager, Darrel Brohier, who handled the situation wonderfully. His receptiveness prompted me to share several actionable suggestions to enhance accessibility for future guests, both in accessible suites and standard rooms: ​Toilet Heights in Accessible Rooms: Raise all accessible toilets to a minimum height of 20 to 22 inches to allow for safer and easier transfers. Shower Support Poles: Install external floor-to-ceiling support poles outside shower entries. This assists guests in stepping over shower lips or lowering themselves safely into transfer chairs. ​Standard Room Toilet Heights: Ensure standard, non-accessible rooms feature toilets at a minimum height of 17 to 20 inches. The lower-profile toilet in my initial room caused significant physical strain, making it difficult to stand up without assistance. ​Bed-Side Grab Rails: Consider adding bed-side support rails. While the mattresses are exceptionally comfortable, the softness causes one to sink in, making sitting up from a lying position challenging for guests with limited core or lower-body strength. ​In-Room Safe Placement: Position in-room safes at eye or chest level rather than near the floor, as low placement creates significant barrier issues for guests with limited mobility.

Love it all at this hotel with a few minor changes to Accessibility rooms toilets and standing pole out side shower and toilets in non accessibility rooms to be raised higher this hotel would be a 10 plus rating.

Breakfast was good, it would have been better if it labelled food with allergens, as a celiac it made it hard for me to know what I could eat or not. I liked that the items changed daily. I was able to check in early - thanks!

Room wasn’t cleaned well- stuff left on the floor and hair in the sink. Got the room directly above the pool which was really loud.
